Not surprising, the WiiU is finally getting some good Nintendo games, while the Vita is getting like...nothing that sells systems...

Ya u completely missed the point he was trying to make. U claimed that Nintendo doesnt make new IP each gen and that is false.
DS-Brain Training, Nintendogs, Professor Layton Wii U-Wonderful 101, X(more to come) |
Italics: Professor Layton = Level 5, not Nintendo
Bold: We don't know if that is a new IP yet.

Arcade-Donkey Kong, Mario Bros NES-Zelda, Metroid, Kid Icarus, Ice Climbers Gameboy-Kirby, Pokemon SNES-Star Fox, Pilotwings, F-Zero N64-Wave Race, 1080 Snowboarding, Smash Bros GBA-Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Golden Sun GC-Pikmin, Battation Wars, Animal Crossing, Custom Robo DS-Brain Training, Nintendogs, Professor Layton Wii-Sports/Play/Party/Fit/Music, Endless Ocean, Xenoblade 3DS-Steel Diver, Dillons Rolling Western(more to come) Wii U-Wonderful 101, X(more to come) A couple of those were released exclusively in Japan in generations before I listed them but u get the point, every Nintendo system has a few new IPs |
You're correct I miss spoke. As for the wii u, they have not come out with a legendary game new or legacy. Wonderful 101 is good but it's not a game I'm going to come back to. Right off the bat, wii had twilight princess, excite truck and wii sports. Gamecube had Rogue squadron, Smash brothers melee. N64 had Super Mario 64 and pilot wings. I periodically go back and play them to this day. It's a year in and it's all one and done games. This was the point I failed to make. I'm not saying the company is toast, but till they come out with legendary titles like they used to launch with sales will continue to suffer. To me bragging about beating out vita just says, "Atleast we are not that hot mess".

In that case I agree with u, Wii U didnt have a big must have title at launch and hasnt had one yet. Things are starting to look up tho with this holiday and 2014 line up, there doesnt seem to be one single huge killer app but the combination of 3D World/Tropical Freeze/Mario Kart/Smash Bros and smaller support titles should really help.

Whoops I thought they owned the IP

And it won't be too long for Europe to follow. Vita needs games and Japan is the only one who's getting them. While I'm sure the Wii U will pass the Vita, it's not going to happen this year. The Wii U will need two million sales plus the amount of Vita's sales in order to pass the Vita worldwide. I really don't think it's going to happen.

That's where next year's roster comes in: Monolith Soft's X, Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, Bayonetta 2, Yarn Yoshi, Donkey Kong Counry Tropical Freeze, and likely others we don't know about yet.
Not very suprising. I'm coming back to this thread when Wii U sells 10 million, which I'm guessing is going to happen in the third quater of 2014, maybe the second.

Ya it wont pass it worldwide this year but it should close the gap by a good amount. Id say the gap will be less than 1m by the end of the year.

Sorry to give you the wrong impression:). I'm a longtime nintendo fan, just waiting for the legendary games. 3Dworld, Kart and smash are a great start. Not much of a DK man but hopefully the 4 listed will get the sales ball rolling as well.
