I totally agree with this.  This was a joint effort between Sony and FromSoftware and I've heard that FromSoftware wanted to do another one which is why they eventually went with Namco Bandai when they made a deal to help fund it and localize it in the west.

Sony had plenty of time to release the already localized Chinese version into the west, but failed to do so and Atlus made all that money.  Then as well as the game sold, you'd have expected Sony to get off their asses and secure a sequel, but it never happened.  With well over a million sales in all regions, it's stupid that they didn't try to get another one developed and then publish it in the west themselves.

Also the launch line up thing.  People might not agree with me on this, but the PS2 is the one console that had an good launch line up in my opinion.  Armored Core 2, Evergrace, Eternal Ring, Kessen, SSX, Tekken Tag Tournament, Dead or Alive 2, and Timesplitters being all launch titles.  I was a FromSoftware fan during that time because their games on PSX.  I also like Koei's strategy games.  You're right about every other system though, and I do mean every other system.  Some were better than others, but yeah, none of them were really that great.

I'm not an FPS fan unless it's Unreal, and the reason I'm interested in Titanfall is because the game has verticality to it.  You can quickly run across stages Mirror's Edge like, you can jump from the ground into windows on the second floor of buildings and jump to the roof.  It's still keeping the military shooter theme, but it's pushing towards less camping with the movement that they offer now.  They even add a bit of Mechwarrior into the game with the Titans.

I'm not sayins its not super polished and probably the best at what it does, because it DOES look super awesome. Just that the ideas that went into it......definitely been expounded on before.

I remember Evergrace and Summoner from back then, good stuff on PS2. Yet they were all unknowns or B-tiers relatively. None of them were "Sure fire sellers" you know what I mean? Launch is used as a time for experimentation(something you dont do with a flagship IP). Console Devs want to test the waters on different game types, income structures, etc. That is what we are seeing with both consoles showing off F2P games, and PS4 having so many indies and MMOs.

Yeah, they have.  And unfortunately no one bought the games.  Unreal Tournament.  When playing at a pro level while you couldn't wall run like Mirror's Edge, the levels were designed that you could get around extremely quick, reach certain areas by wall jumping and such.  Side jumps to dodge, wall jumps to reach longer distances.

It's not a new technique any longer, but when I did play, people found out that you could use the jackhammer to do some insane jumps.  You'd lose 50% of your health by using this jump because you had to shoot the jackhammer towards the ground and jump the moment it hit the ground to do some jumps higher than the jump boots.  People used it along with the jump boots in capture the flag.  Some places like sandstorm, some people used it to get back from the other side after jump boots ran out.

I played Unreal Tournament 3 a lot after it released on the PS3, even though I got really bad motion sickness playing it.  Just because of how awesome the game is.

Yeah.  Games that aren't well known that will get more sales for being a launch title.  Or games like Ridge Racer that are well known, they just aren't good.

I'm surprised there's no Ridge Racer for this launch.  They didn't launch one on the Wii U either.  Ridge Racer is synonomous with system launches.

PS4 gamers just went from "it's coming to PS4, it's inevitable" to "I don't want it, it looks last gen". Truely entertaining

Pfft, you've got it totally wrong.

We're going to play it on PC instead.

I think the real hypocricy is that Titanfall is somehow validated as a bonafide XBO exclusive when it appears on both 360 and PC. Meanwhile any game that is not fully exclusive to PS4 doesn't count or doesn't even exist in some eyes. Planetside 2 is also a FPS multiplayer only MMO style game, but is also vailable for PC........so it gets dismissed.

And the usual response, "I'll just play it on PC".

Sure you will >_>.............

Just like all the games before it, most will get these games on Consoles, because they are console gamers, mostly exclusive to them as well. I personally don't care what is available for PC ever because regardless I don't like PC gaming style. They might as well be exclusive to the consoles they are on.

On the topic of hypocricy, I keep seeing statements like "PS4 has nothing but indies" but not to long ago the indie scene was pretty big on XBL.

XBL has alot of indies, as well as psn. The diffrence is sony was making a huge deal about it, that how the indystation 4 name came about. Still not hypocracy

XBL HAD a lot of indies...on 360. This time around, at least for the time being they seem to have all migrated to playstation. Back in 360's dry spells many would say "Well I still have plenty to play on Arcade" which is fine. Yet now 80% of all of them are appearing on PS4 exclusively(as in not on XBO), timed or not. I'm just saying they mattered then, and they still matter now, maybe even more so at launch were there is less to play on either console.

I also was refering to non indies ,stuff that isn't releasing at Retail. DC Universe, Planetside 2, and Warframe will be available for download at launch. Some highly rated (well at least PS2 and DCU kinda are) F2P MMO style games. These games are not "Lineup Padding", they are the real deal (except maybe Warframe lol).

I also find it funny that some of these are very similar to what Titanfall is trying to accomplish. Dust 514 and Planetside 2 are both similar in scope and theme. I'm baffled as to why Titanfall is being hailed as some sort of completely original idea when Sony has been doing these styles of games for a while (MAG, Warhawk, KZ3 had Mechs and jetpacks, Starhawk, etc).

I thought Warframe has been on pc for awhile. As far as DC and PS2 no idea why they arn't being trumpeted. MAG is completly different, other than it's a shooter. KZ3 had what looks to be completly different game mechancs. Never played Dust or Starhawk. I get what you're saying though, it was Dishonored for me. The game offered nothing new but was celebrated as some awesome new ip. Sorry to post and run, but i have work.

"exclusive only for the lifetime of the title on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC." What does that even mean? When it stops selling on those platforms they'll port to others? When Titanfall 2 comes out it'll be multiplatform?

Good to see its going to arrive on PC, Xbox 1/360 and stay there. Gives me more of an incentive to buy an Xbone.

That's the attitude!

Maybe you will even find other games on the Xbox One that you want to play too.

Titan Fall, in my opinion, is the most anticipated new game since the original Halo over a decade ago.  (I would put World of Warcraft up there too, but it's more of an expasion/adjustment than a completly new game.)

Congrats to those teans at Respan and Xbox.  This is really big news.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

It means that the game "titan fall" will not be a multi plat ever, but the franchise does plan to branch into a multi platform. So no titan fall for sony and nintendo users until the second game is released.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

Respawn & EA are betting on a losing horse. They will learn the hard way.
