Forums - Gaming - Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Comparison PS3 vs. PS4

I see it now...but hopefully it would be more noticeable in person; as the the games in motion tell a better story than static screenshots do.  It took a lot of explaining what the diffrences are and that isn't really a good thing for now.

Again, it's a current gen game upscaled to a higher resolution.  The differences a re  going to be marginal at best.  You want some major differences, compare the graphics to the game with a game that wasn't developed with last gen hardware in mind.

*edited*  Replaced the cutscene like image from Black Flag to an actual in game image.  Both of these pictures came from a 1080p source.  The game pictured below is The Division.  The difference in graphical quality isn't even close.

O dear. I hope this is not representative of the type of improvements we can expect with the "next gen".

The same poly-models? Ridiculous, sorry! I can't believe how bad it looks sometimes.

Interesting note: The developer mentioned that the Wii U version would have better graphics than the PS360 version.

The WiiU version is probably exactly the same as the PS4 and Xbone version. Which is kinda bad considering the difference in power. Good for the WiiU though.

The Division will never look like the reveal trailer. This is Ubisofts modus operandi: Reveal a jaw dropping trailer and gimp the game from then on.

Happened with Far Cry 3 and Watch Dogs, the same will be the case fot The Devision

The PS4 version is a little more detailed but I'm more looking forward to the smoothness of the games. That is if Bethesda can release a game without it locking up if you play the game too long.

Its quite easy to see the PS3 is blurrier which is what happens at lower res with AA, but also your looking at these videos through you tube on a monitor, so each image is what 7 inch max?

Wait till you've got that at home on your 52 inch TV ( or 40+), it will be night and day how blurry one is and how sharp the other is.

That said it does look like there using the same models on both platforms, but who really thought a cross gen title was going to be the best next gen looking title?

Looks similar, but I guess thats cross gen games for you....

I can see the difference and it will certainly be noticeable when full screen on a large TV. The main difference is the sharpness and the quality of the sea. Just wait for actual gameplay as well before writing the PS4 version off. I really enjoyed playing it when I got the chance

I'm looking forward to play it when it comes out
