Which console had the best lineup?

Playstation...Zero Divide baby! 10 10.87%

Playstation 2...SSX! 18 19.57%

PSP...Wipeout Pure can play on this thing??? 3 3.26%

Playstation 3...Genji -_- 4 4.35%

PS VITA...It has more than 5 games? 23 25.00%

Playstation 4...Dat Killzone O_O 34 36.96%

Total:92

Good things come to those who wait. I am personally waiting for the PS4s until its third or fourth year when there are around 10 exclusive games that I want to purchase. Traditionally consoles from launch have limited libraries in their first 2 years and they are at their highest price point. It pays off to wait for the first or second price cuts and a good library of over 500 games to emerge and around 30 million console systems sold after 3 years means the system is doing well.

Yeah it looks a little soft around the edges, but it looks decent overall.

I still think the PS4 launch line-up is a little weak, but it doesn't really matter. Just look at PS1 and PS2. Two of the better systems ever made with relatively weak launch games.

It's strange though that Sony launches have been so consistently weak. Seeing it all layed out like this shows just that. But, again, a strong launch line-up is not a recipe for success. Otherwise Dreamcast and Xbox would have clobbered the competition.

Launch titles I bought at launch, eventually bought, or played. Not including what I played as a demo.

Playstation

Battle Arena Toshinden (It's actually quite impressive on emulator: 1080p60)

Rayman (Bought it last month)

Zero Divide (Mom bought it for me at a grocery store for $9)

Playstation 2

Armored Core 2

DOA 2: Hardcore

Madden NFL 2001

Midnight Club (Capture the flag in cars? Fuck yeah!)

Smuggler's Run

SSX (My first PS2 game and I paid for it with my own money. The graphics back then were amazing.)

Street Fighter EX3

Tekken Tag Tournament

PSP

Not a damn thing. I didn't get one until 2009. And even then I only bought it because Circuit City was having a liquidation sale and I found out I could play it on my TV.

Playstation 3

Genji: Days of the Blade (What a fool I was)

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance

Need for Speed: Carbon

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom (Still in my backlog)

PS Vita

I don't own it yet. I actually own games for it though.

Playstation 4 (Games I'll most likely get)

Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag (Day One)

Battlefield 4

DC Universe Online (Time to get back in it)

Flower (Day One because it's free to download if you already bought it for PS3)

Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate (Day one because Watchdogs is delayed.)

Killzone: Shadow Fall (Day One)

Knack (Might be a day one)

Lego: Marvel Superheroes

NBA 2K14 (Day One)

Need for Speed: Rivals

PlayRoom

Warframe

For me then, the PS4 has the strongest lineup in terms of games that actually interest me.

Tell me about it.  Despite what the OP says, Fantavision was NOT available at the PS2's launch.  That means that Sony launched a console without even having a title of their own available on day one!  It still shows that launch is just a small part of the big picture.

Not much new here, the same old article with the same old info that isn't exactly accurate. The lists are somewhat subjective, so they will always be wrong somehow.

It is near the end of the end....

Of that list, I'm only getting Knack and Killzone.

EDIT: And possibly Resogun.

It's not really that strange considering how long Sony supports their consoles.

I miss Battle Arena Toshinden.

Now a days you need to have a decent launch because people aren't just buying to have the most powerful thing anymore. The launch is ok, but unless your a Killzone fan or an FPS fan its nothing to get overly excited about. I'm waiting a year to see how The Order turns out because its the only game that relatively interests me.
