Forums - Nintendo - Rumour: Nintendo planning to release 7 N64 games as Wii U reUmaginations, Mario 64 first

in my humble opinion,..

nintendo has a great catalog of games that are still fun but quite ugly by today's standards. hardware has reached a point where things can be made timelessly beautiful. The windwaker remake is a good example of that. That said, 7 games seems a bit much,.. that would take a significant amount of resources. ..resources that wouldn't be working on new content.

nintendo would be smart to remake some of the backlog into timeless beauties,.. but it should be limited to 1 or 2 a year. take a note from disney with their "vault" system. it makes each one more special/valuable.

LOL If this is true their new slogan should be "Wii have run out of ideas".

Yes, that was Sony´s slogan when they churned one HD-remaster after the next one out...right ?

I mean the Sly collection, Jack & Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, SotC-Ico, God of War I, God of War II, Killzone I HD and Ratched Deadlocked HD screamed "Wii are running out of ideas !!11!"

6 retail collections containing  16 full games and 2 download only HD upports

.

Wish its not true. Put your effort on new games, nintendo.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Like Sony did on PS3?

Sounds great, but for $30 I'd expect the Ocarina of Time 3D treatment.

I think this is made up. However, it would be really smart. I would love it as a consumer, picking up some polished up versions of these classics, and as a company it would be a very smart business move. One of Nintendo's biggest assets is its back catalog. Re-releases are a great way to milk them for money and there is always a new generation who has never played them. Also, WWHD was done mostley by a team of 4 guys in 6 months. If it sells 500k-1million+, can you imagine the profit on that? Nintendo should set up a team of 10 guys to upgrade these titles and put out 2 a year on VC. Some made over SNES and NES classics might be a good idea too.

Personally, I would buy Mario64 and the Zeldas, as well as some other titles if done well such as F-Zero.

Nintendo send your ninjas to Microsoft and get Banjo Kazooie back as a IP. I MISS MY BANJO :(

You and me both :(

Have you played Grunty's Revenge for GBA? It's a lot of fun.

No, never knew their were a Banjo game on the GBA

There are two actually! If you count Banjo-Pilot.

I definitely recommend Grunty's Revenge. It takes place between Kazooie and Tooie. Solid platforming action.

Well Castlevania 64 is obviously one of them

Forgot about Castlevania! That's a good call. Such an underrated game.

LOL...Sony put out more new IP's than any other brand in the current gen and you're holding them accountable for what exactly? Showing people first party titles that didn't sell so hot but were considered artistic classics. Most of Nintendos games they are showing were commercially successful. I don't hate Nintendo, in fact I really want to invest in them this gen, but they need some new ideas for this gen.
