I think this is made up. However, it would be really smart. I would love it as a consumer, picking up some polished up versions of these classics, and as a company it would be a very smart business move. One of Nintendo's biggest assets is its back catalog. Re-releases are a great way to milk them for money and there is always a new generation who has never played them. Also, WWHD was done mostley by a team of 4 guys in 6 months. If it sells 500k-1million+, can you imagine the profit on that? Nintendo should set up a team of 10 guys to upgrade these titles and put out 2 a year on VC. Some made over SNES and NES classics might be a good idea too.
Personally, I would buy Mario64 and the Zeldas, as well as some other titles if done well such as F-Zero.
