In general i would say Nintendo is still true console gaming, while Sony and Microsoft seem to be a copy of pc gaming, but maybe thats just view

Yeah, I love how Sony totally copied ninty with those Uncharted, Last of Us, Little Big Planet, infamous, Heavy Rain games. They clearly can't come up with an idea of their own and the only think that works for them is copying smash bros, which worked so well for them.
OT:
Ninty > Sony
1. Consistently good first party games.
2. Games with long lasting appeal
3. Revolutionary hardware (wii controllers)
Sony >Ninty
1. Consistently taking a chance with sofware (new ips)
2. Cater to a wider audience/ more variety.
3. Thinking long term. "Future proof" hardware, willing to lose money even when they are on top (e.g. ps2).

Nintendo > Sony
*nostalgia based reason here*

Sony > Nintendo
More variety
Superior hardware
Better 3rd party support
Nintendo is better because
Innovation
Vision
and legacy
It' funny how Nintendo is being mocked by nostalgia based reasons when it's the exact same deal with PS fans.
Honestly if you're going to talk hardware you have to talk build quality
And Sony's shit sucks when it comes to that.
Not to mention you can crack them come sideways. PSP is the only good thing they have :3
If you want to approach it from a power standpoint, PS2 is weak(if thats your hardware angle on the whole POWER Thing) the PS3 is hard to program for, meanwhile PS4 is a cut down PC easy to program for
On the other hand I can smash a gamecube over your head and it'll survive Afghanistan :>

All or most of which are defunct, to be fair. Nintendo history is littered with one-off or low-profile JRPGs as well (Mother comes to mind), though not quite so many |
Nah not really
The franchises are still there if Sony decides to do something with them just like how Earthbound is still there in Nintendo's basement aswell lol
unless you are talking about the OG studio that made them. You have to remember that a franchise could still live on and be quality if utilised right by another studio.
Just like how Donkey Kong was brought back with quality by Retro when the original devs were Rare

Nintendo's still making RPG's though. from those franchises.
Sony hasnt done anything with them in years

I will assume this is in reply to my comment
yea they haven't but Sony still has JRPG franchises at the end of the day. I believe it was you that tried to claim that they didn't.
Edit: yea, it was you

They dont use them and they havent used them since the PS1.
So...
