Forums - Gaming - Was the Wii U's launch lineup more anticipated than the PS4's and One's is?

I know I want KillZone, Drive Club (when it comes out) and Knack along with a few multi format titles. But I know what I'm going to be getting with all of them. There's no mystery (which wondering how the pad would work kind of added to the Wii U launch).

With PS4 I know I'm going in expecting a PS3 with prettier graphics.

And wow at Epic Mickey 2 numbers!

The original game had some hardcore fans, and from what I can tell, with good reason.

How were we supposed to know the sequel would fix none of the original's problems and add new ones at that?

i disagree. i would argue that the game was overhyped and the main reason it had hardcore fans was because it was exclusive. Notice how the sequel was announced as multiplat...no one cared. Long before reviews came in and the game released. the mediocrity made it worst. Hell ill go one step further and say, the orignal wasnt that good to begin with which is why the sequel sold so much worst despite being released on 4 different consoles.

im ranting OT. Its perspective, IMHO NONE of them are great. As a multiplat owner Wii u wasnt impressive because the games that i was interested i could already play on a system ive had for years. so that left. Nintyland which is the only game in the launch lineup that was exclusive i really like. Not a fan of MS offerings in general. and the only games for PS4 that i would be interested in is Knack and KZ

The Wii U's launch lineup wasn't an amazing one, and still is far better than the One's and Ps4 launch lineups. Both MS and sony clearly rushed the system out regardless of lack of software. Or maybe many of their SW teams are still working with the 360/Ps3 (in sony's case, clearly the problem is not an extra investment on the vita given the lack of games)

Lol... if anyone rushed the system it would be nintendo. They killed the wii too soon and had nothing to take its place for two years. Then they didnt have any SW ready as you can see because all the nintendo fans are using that to excuse wii us sales.

Yeah, Nintendo diverted all their resources to the 3DS when they should have been cracking on with the Wii U releases which led to another epic software drought. (Seems to be the norm now with console releases)

Guess Drive Club being delayed is good in that regard, as early next year, there are still 2 high profile PS4 releases to come once the launch madness has died down.

No gamers are just a silly bunch that expect an infinite amount resources go into a finite amount.

Well this site has a lot of Nintendo fans. Outside of the internet I don't really remember any hype for the WiiU. Nobody was talking about it. That's just my own perception though. Most of my friends are PS3 or 360 gamers.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

im almost positive it wasnt just you

No it was not. This launch looks way better on both PS4 and Xbox one then the Wii U was and is right now.

If there is a real, good reason why Wii U`s line-up was more anticipated it`s because it`s exclusives included the always loved 2D Mario, but also new IPs as exclusives: NintendoLand and ZombiU.

PS4 greatest exclusive (KZ: SF) is a sequel. And XB1`s greatest exclusive (Forza 5) is also a sequel.
Although in the exclusive camp, MS has more of them, which warrant a better line-up.
