Forums - Nintendo - Predict the lifetime sales of COD Ghosts Wii U

It will sell...

Less than 50k 41 8.82%

50-100k 39 8.39%

100-150k 36 7.74%

150-200k 37 7.96%

200-250k 49 10.54%

250-300k 50 10.75%

300-350k 34 7.31%

350-400k 31 6.67%

400-450k 23 4.95%

Over 450k 124 26.67%

Total:464

Half a million would be nice. Probably a little too optimistic, but I think that's at least what's required to keep third parties on board.

less than BO2 with each iteration of COD on the wii, even with its larger base, game sales went down, expect that to continue

It will increase but not by too much. Maybe 300-350.

CoD Ghosts as a while is going to decline by a fair amount from BOII, but the WiiU version should be an improvement over Black Ops last year solely due to the larger install-base. I think at least 500k.

350k is my guess.

Surprised to see so many votes for over 450k. Not seeing a lot of justification for it either.

bellow 450k is what needs justification.

Even on the Wii's massive install base, MW3 only did 600k. And you're expecting 700k?

BO2 on the Wii U did 200k. The Wii U's larger install base this holiday will help, but it's not going to counter the limited interest in COD on Nintendo consoles.

easy. last year did 200k which is pathetic to say the least, thats what it sold for a WHOLE year, people werent buying it for Wii U even during the drought. the install base hasnt increased that much. All other versions are going to take away from its sales. Hell notice which version isnt even on the preorder charts. Also COD is on a decline anyway, i dont see why the sales would jump that much on a system that its not popular on.

Now your turn to justify why it would sell over 700k. MW3 for Wii didnt come close to that and it was on an install base that was huge. THe only way i could see that is if they dont make a COD for Wii U after Ghosts.

because it sold 200k so far, being a launch title, makes it logical it's sequel will sell much more. the installed base will be several times bigger and the game is releasing on the same day as other versions. not being on the preorder chartz is a pointless argument.

Call of Duty 3 released with the Wii and sold more than all of its successors on the console, generally a launch game can sell alot more than it normally would, because of the lack of competition and the general hype that a console launch is surrounded by.

So, any of the 5 people who voted "less than 50k" like to explain why you think it will sell less than a quarter of what Black Ops II did on Wii U?

Last I heard it was at around 80k in the US, given it did nothing in Japan to my knowledge, and WiiU sells a lot worse in Europe, I doubt it's near 200k.

That and there are more Nintendo offerings this holiday that WiiU owners will prefer. The userbase hasn't increased much at all either.

350k

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

While I do expect Ghosts to outsell BOII on Wii U, this reasoning isn't entirely solid.  Plenty of Wii launch games ended up being the highest selling in their series on the system.  Twilight Princess, Red Steel, Excite Truck, Call of Duty 3, Trauma Center, Marvel: UA, Rayman Raving Rabbids (potentially, it is the highest selling in NA, but the Europe data is missing from 2006 into 2011).

BLOPS2 sold OK considering the install base, so I'm gonna go with 200K - 350K.
