Great numbers. It seems that the game sold well over the 4 million told by Nintendo. No way it sold less than 2 million in Americas and 1 million in Europe

How can it sell more than what Nintendo shipped?

We don´t know shipment numbers. And in the PR from NOA they said it sold over 4 million units in retail.

Also about Europe:

Data from Europe primarily covers Saturday, Oct. 12, as the great majority of retail outlets are closed on Sundays across Europe

How do you know it's not shipped? And it does include digital sales.

You should read the PR (first post of this thread). The tidbit about Europe is also from the very same PR.

@Boutros It's sold, it includes Nintendo's reliable data from retail. Definitely not shipped. Also their data does not include "others".

@Rogerio It definitely didn't sell more. Nintendo get pretty reliable data from their retail sources. Moreover, even B/W didn't do 2m and 1m in US & EU respectively. It definitely sold a lot less due to its not so impressive user base in the West. It will have pushed a lot of 3DS's though that's for sure! I think it's around 1 million for US and 600k in Europe. Realy depends on how many download sales it got from Japan. Edit: The sales actually include the download cards sold at retail, so it looks like it did more than 1m in the US (2m shared between NA and EU). Impressive.

Also compared to previous Pokemon games those sales are quite good since they were forced to release later in the week with respect to previous iterations due to the simultaneous global launch.

Im sorry, but from someone who plays the games for 16 years X and Y are the most streamlined, fun in a pokemon game yet. The music is great, the story's fine. Difficulty and challenge... well this game has the best AI, you can always make things difficult or easy for yourself in the game anyway.

Best ones so far.

Framerate slow downs dont really matter in battle anyway. They're gone when you turn the 3D off ( But they happen in the hordes)

Its just slow camera roation. Not like the game's overworld is laggy

Some of the music is way too similar to the past games. The "defeated trainer" theme is the exact same one as the G/S, and the rival battle music is in the same style as the rival battle music of BW. Music isn't amazing at all, it's kinda meh. The main thing I liked from this game is how Gamefreak really took advantage of the fact that there are so many Pokemon and that they're putting all types of them in places. I've never had a 6 Pokemon party really early in a game before. I remembered when Ralts was rare to find in RSE, now I see it a lot in this route I was in early in the game.

Framerate slowdowns in battle mean that the game isn't well optimized. Considering how the graphics are very simple, there is no reason for framerate to drop. It's not with 3D on (it's worse with 3D on), and it happens randomly, not always. And I've noticed certain places in the overworld that have some slight framerate drops. It's not a big deal, but it's definitely enough to have me notice them when they happen.

They've made a decent enteratnce into 3D, but they still have a lot of work to do for their next game (likely Z version), they need to refine the engine a bit. Make no mistake, I'm liking the game, but not as exaggerative as the other people around here. 8.4-8.6 rated game so far. While they added several nice things into it, some things are meh, like most Pokemon games.

The only thing that's similar audio wise is the sound effects.

I like these games more than I liked  every other pokemon game besides HGSS. BW2 was fun tho

I'd be posting quite a bit of videos that have similarities, but I don't wanna spend time finding them all since you can probably do that. I'll post this one because it's the most obvious. Victory over Trainer (the EXACT same theme as G/S, except the instruments are more realistic and less synthy):

And OK, that's good for you I suppose.

4 million shipped FW is quite nice.
