lol, its the second highest pokemon OP, and it is the best pokemon since early generations and there is hype. Dont kno why your acting like its not. BW had a user base of 140mil+ and sold 6.2mil FW, while XY sold over 4mil in 2 days with a 34mil so yeahhhh.... Take that into consideration
Edit: Its like if GTA6 sold 10mil FW with a User base (X1/PS4) of 60mil. Thats more impressive than GTA5 16mil with over a 160mil user base

Don't forget that a good majority of those launch buyers are hardcore Pokemon fans (+/- some fans who may or may not want it at launch), and those will almost always buy Pokemon games at launch, that idea has always remained true. Yes, I know there were a lot of excited people out there, but people were exaggerating with the amount it would sell. It sold well, never said it was bad, it's nice to see Pokemon selling well. However, Install base has very little to do with the launch sales if those same Poke-fans I mentioned (as in, those same people who bought D/P and BW at their launches) were already among the install base or already planned to buy it previously. If install base had everything to do with launch numbers (not saying it doesn't count, it certainly does to a small extent), then BW should have had no problem completely destroying D/P launch numbers, and yet it didn't do that (read the wording correctly, "destroy D/P launch", not simply pass them), despite having well over 5 times the install base when BW released. Besides, it's likely that some of the same people who bought BW at launch also bought X/Y. Though, I still don't understand the big deal over launch numbers, they almost never tell us about whether they'll continue selling through the long run, where I think the "impressive-ness" of games starts to really show. BW's launch numbers were just for show, because despite having such a larger install base than D/P (and after D/P had pretty much died off), it failed to even match D/P in total sales.
And no, the game isn't as good as the older generations: the entire series has gotten way too easy, all of these free Pokemon, such under-leveled trainers and gym leaders, it's quite a list. And the game has noticable technical issues, and terribly optimized for such a simple-looking game. Framerate drops during battles and even in the overworld....hard to believe I'm commenting about framerate in a Pokemon game but those problems, they're there. There's no way I'm placing this game in the same level as those other games with technical issues like those. And no, I'm not one of those people who say nonsense things like "Omg,the gameplay is so good, it washes away any technical issues it has".
