I work retail gaming. We had 8 preorders for Pokemon X, and 5 for Y. We easily sold through 100 copies of the two games. Nintendo is very non aggressive when it comes to pushing preorders, and they have a large amount of younger fans who may not preorder. There are often no incentives to preorder their games unless you're legitimately concerned about them not having copies. So, yeah. It's not hard to imagine a 3,4, or even 5:1 ration from preorder to sale, especially if that includes digital sales.

F*** Yeah! Seriously though, Nintendo games are less pre ordered than others but that doesn't mean S***! I think my gamestop had around 40-50 pre orders and at  midnight (cuz i was there) seen over 100 people alone waiting on line to purchase the game!

OP: Im going to be bragging/gloating here like crazy cuz so many people believed (ok not everybody but a few) pokemon xy would decline by alot lifetime cuz BW sold 15mil (lowest in pokemon main games) and DS had 150mil+ user base, 3DS has a fifth of that so its obviously going to nt sell more than 10mil O.o

No name calling! you kno who you are

Correct, people don't generally pre-order a title like Pokemon (or most Nintendo games for that matter). X and Y sold well over 1.5 million in one day in the USA.

Cool! 4 times the pre orders(well close enough) and this doesn't count the digital sales which should at least be 100k cuz many people bught it on eShop! On top of that one day for FW sales is crazy consideringWeek 2 wont drop by alot (hopefully). Thankz bro

All rests on Japan, don't underestimate them!!!

What about Europe? Something like 1.5-2m in USA would mean it had to sell ~1m in Europe. And did MC/Famitsu release numbers for Japan yet or is this just your own estimate?

Well there is also the rest of the world which many people seem to forget and this one had a release date in every country it's available in too.

True. I've seen pictures of people lining up in massive numbers not only in Japan or New York, but also in the capital of South Korea, Singapore, Brazil and all kinds of places.

He's getting worried because of his bet lol! If its 5.5mil sales FW (1 day of sales) then he's in trouble, his bet was an impossible 6mil FW which even i thought was crazy (i predicted 4mil), cuz with 5.5mil digital sales would have to be 500k which seems low cuz thats only 8-9% of total sales. I still cant believe its this high! if it is then ITS ONLY GOING TO GET CRAZIER O.o

UK is 110k - 180k, and the 3DS is over 20% of 3DS' Europe userbase. By that extrapolation perhaps 500k - 900k~

you can't guess digital sales, even if they're obvious.
