Forums - Nintendo - Downside to the new Exp Share Pokemon XY?

What I do is I turn it off when all my Pokémon has become on an equal level. On the other hand, I'm using like 8-9 Pokémon actively. So I have it turned on for most of the time.

I've got 2 pokemon, Fennekin and Pidgey. I just received EXP share and I'm not sure if I plan to use it honestly. I like to keep all my pokemon at the same level so I always switch them out after one gets ahead by 1 or 2 levels.

The game is pretty damn easy but i really like the variety in pokemon i am finding. SO MANY FIRE POKEMON!

I use EXP share and mirror cave still kicked my ass. Not enough Psychic Pokemon in my team :D

But it's alright. My Fennekin finally is at its final evolution and kicks so much ass now *_*

I turned it right off when I got it, as it's easy enough to earn exp on X/Y, heck you gain exp even from capturing pokes. My team is at level 17/19 and I've yet to hit the second gym.

This will make grinding much more easier to cope in the post game, but for the main quest I can see how this easily breaks the game too.

I think it's a good thing to have on. leveling up week Pokemon this way is less annoying than switching between them every time

I haven't played X/Y yet, but if the game is harder and you can't just run right through every enemy, seems like it might be better than the previous games. Previous games felt like you were almost immediately more powerful and could walk right through any trainer regardless if your Pokemon was weak against the one they were using or not.

If the game is more difficult, then the 50% exp share should be good for the game. The difference is that you'll either be grinding your Pokemon that you're not using, or your Pokemon will be able to stand some chance against enemies. If I'm trying to level a Pokemon and I don't want to use it, then I'd rather just use the Pokemon that I want to instead of starting with a weak Pokemon and switching out mid battle.

Anyways. Hearing about the higher difficulty makes me interested.

Exp share makes you literally train wreck the entire game. I love the game to freaking bits, but I do have to say that this has to be the easiest pokemon game by far. I know that's not saying much since I could beat every pokemon game with just my starter, but this one is even easier since my other party pokemon end up getting leveled up even though I never even need to bring them out.

Nevermind about what I said.  Lost interest now.

Simple, turn it off. I only use it when I'm trying to train a set of weak pokemon, other then that, the game get tougher later on.

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Yea, about the difficulty, I'm fully expecting it to get harder as I progress (or at least hoping). I've lost 1 battle right now. It was one of the flying only battles, my Pidgeotto was like the same level as the enemy Pokémon. They used a confusion move on me right away, and I didn't have anything to get rid of the confusion. 3 moves in a row it made me attack myself, and I lost. It was kind of dumb to be honest.

Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

1st two gyms was relatively easy and then the difficulty spiked.  I cant say beyond that point, been ev training my pokemon today instead of progressing.

You dont get EV's from EXP share. You're over leveled but you're also weak.

And horde battles.

Considering the pokemon trainers utilize competent battel strategy in the actual game, XY and very good.

And yes the gaps between teh 1st 2nd and third gym is huge.
