Forums - Sony - The Vita sells badly because it's called 'Vita'.

I get it, you want to be cute and symbolic, going all Latin and shit, but seriously, it's still a stupid name.

What if we called the PS4, "Playstation Amour" because it's French for "love"? It's stupid, and people don't understand it, so they don't buy it.

The Vita sells bad because it is the PSVita. Amusing how many excuses get invented just to that it's the system's fault itself.

Haha what? It sells bad because of price, no pokemon and no gta.

Vita means "Life" in latin, ironic isn't it? XD

No Vita sells badly because it has a very limited appeal and no games people wanna play on that thing. The market for has shifted immensely in favor of smartphone games and the dedicated handheld space is dominated by Nintendo. And basically only putting handheld versions of console games out for the vita isn't helping Sony either.

It is, most specifically, espically with their new console and what the number sound like in Japan.

So it's litterly Playsation Life and Death.

But I think the biggest reason it doesn't sell, is the same reason horse whips don't sell like they used to, or why Cisco stopped making the Flip camears. They have been repleaced by something else.  The market has changed. Like cars have replaces horses; cell phones have repleaced hand held gaming machines and convienance cameras for the older masses.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

completely off topic I bought one yesterday for my mrs for xmas cost £75 after my discount with 8gb mem card and 10 free games to download....... get in

High pricepoint, lack of AAA exclusives and lackluster marketing... no other excuse is needed.

Might have been pointed out by a few thousand people before you.

OT: The name has nothing or close to nothing to do with sales. There are many other reasons, but no point to explain them. WiiU on the other hand as a name was a terrible decision.

all this pricepoint and lack of exclusives talk is so damn annoying. it's simply NOT true.
it is the constant shit that people talk, since the vita launched, that held it back then, and still hold it back now.

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse
