To be perfectly honest, I would pretty much bet that he would say it's at most on par with PSP graphics.

Red Dead Redemption still looks better. ;)

I thought Luigi's 2 was already enough for saying 3DS >> PSP

In my opinion 3d graphics are not based on individual prowess as only Polygon count. There is others factors like:
textures, shaders, effects like reflection or transparencies, density of objects in the world but also general quality of image and immersive stereoscopic 3D.
And in those areas hence generally speaking the 3DS >> PSP, no contest.
And I very much like my PSP 3000 with its great looking games (GT, god of war, Daxter notably)
Watched their video of IronFall. Very impressed by their 3D engine, at 60fps, looks really responsive, smooth and pretty. Everything coded in assembly they are hardcore programmers at VDev!
7 millions polygon/sec!!! Let's undust our old gen graphics metric!

You're right, polygon count was a big deal in say, the 5th or 6th gen, but more recently things like shaders have become more important. For instance, the characters in Gear of War are lower poly than Leon from RE4 on Gamecube, but they look better due to normal mapping.

Oh wow! That is interesting.
Given that it's ground-up for 3DS it seems the Wii U/Vita will simply be getting up-res'd ports.

Yeah, it's either that or a completely different project. But since the team is small, I think they will port IronFall. A Wii U port would make IronFall the first VD-Dev game on home consoles since the SNES, I believe.
I'm thinking about adding VD-Dev to the shortlist of awesome small developers gracing the eShop. Renegade Kid, Nicalis, Shin'en, and (the godly) WayForward are on that that.

You guys are assuming such thing because the logos are simply there or is a port of ironfall confirmed ?

Assuming. We think that it likely points to an IronFall port, unless VD-Dev has the capacity to work on multiple games.

Iron fall looks great. I have a 3DS, Wii U and Vita... If they port it to Vita, that's probably the version I'll get. It'll push the 3ds graphically which is great, but I like dual analog stick support with shooters. But who knows, maybe VD dev will make it work.
