never played a thief game. But I've played Dishonored, I'll check this out :)

btw I don't see any problem with the graphics?

I'm not too sure about this. I loved the first game, but the sequels were a bit disappointing in my opinion. I don't think its a game that requires a strong story or lots of dialogue. I think more freedom in terms of what areas you could enter, how to approach each level and what you could steal (ala some of the early hitman games) would make for a more enjoyable game.

I agree with Chrizum, less scripted moments and more of a sandbox free-roaming feel would be a better direction for this franchise.

I'm not feeling it. The stealth in Deus Ex Revolition was poor and this is made by the same company.

And previews have been not very promising and the main guy talks too much and it seems too dumbed down and cinematic and built on visual stuff, visual and action wows.

How is this generic people?  For something to be generic there have to literally be dozens of games like it.

Judging by the youtube comments, the Thief community is hard to impress.

It's just that simple.

"City has changed, I've changed."

Yeah, now I'm wearing makeup...

Still, looks better than expected, I was sure they're set to completely mess up another IP.

sorry but i hope this is PS3 gameplay because that doesn't look remotely next gen. The puddles look nice but everything else is ugly as hell. its looks like a mid range PS3 game.

saying that the gameplay could be very good, although it looks like Mirrors Edge meets Assassin's Creed so.. probably terrabel

This made me chuckle, because it just goes to show that visuals are in the eye of the beholder many times.  Because to me, there is no way that gameplay was running on a PS3.  That was probably PC footage.

Don't get me wrong, many PS4/PC games look better, but the game looks fine.

Character model in the cinematic didn't seem next gen at all btu otherwise this looks great.

It happens when you try to "modernize" classic IPs to make them more appealing for current generation of gamers...so much of that these days.

As an old Thief fan, I was really worried after first videos, I still am, though bit less, tbh, but can't say I expect too much.

This. Scripted moments have very little place in a Thief game. There can be a very few for storytelling sake, although a very few cutscenes can do the same job, but they must not interrupt the action if not in the very few moments it's strictly necessary (like in the last levels of the first Thief, when there is its biggest plot twist). Also, I really DON'T want camera changes during action, in the PC version of Prince of Persia: Sands of Time they were so nasty when playing with mouse and keyboard that it's one of the very few games I stopped playing. The point of view must be lockable to always first person, with camera changes only during (very few) scripted moments and cutscenes.
Large levels like in Thief I and II must come back, no split levels like in Thief III, while free roaming, even partial with hub levels, like in Thief III, is the only good news the latter had compared to the generally far better first two titles. And Garrett must be able to swim again, that unlearning it was the second crappiest thing of Thief III after the levels split in parts.
One last thing: not many zombies, they're just annoying if the game is hard, with limited supply of fire arrows and holy water, like the first two games, and not easier and spammed with too many rare weapons and items like Thief III (in Thief III, with them regenerating in the hub levels, I always had my quiver full: maybe the Bonehoard in Thief I was too hard, but Thief III made things far too easy).

I'm crossing my fingers for this long-awaited 4th chapter...
