I'm not sold on dedicated servers. I'd say it's definitely smoother/less laggy than the host system, but it's not night and day. And I fucking despise how with dedicated servers you join every game in progress and your team is always losing.

Black Ops 2 went to Dedicated servers on the 360 and PS3 at some point and no one noticed lol.

Yeah at some point they did. There are vids on youtube showing it. Jive Turkey did one. Both 360 and PS3 lol. Same shitty netcode though

dedicated servers are a beautiful and rare thing

Well on PS4, yes.
Pretty much every game on Xbox One will have dedicated servers.

How do you know every game will have dedicated servers??? MS are gonna rent companies their servers cheap. They aren't giving them free for every game. So that doesn't mean every comapny or game will use them.

Hopefully cloud power might improve the X1 perfermance too??????

Pigs might fly!

That is why I said pretty much.

Ever major AAA game will have dedicated servers on Xbox One.
Heck even most launch and launch window games do support dedicated servers already.

And why do you try to downplay cloud and dedicated servers is beyond me.

I am not sure if a lot of MP games will have dedicated servers on the X1 at launch.  Have not heard anything about Forza, Ryse, Battlefield etc.  Actually the only thing I heard will be using dedicated servers is Titanfall and Call of Duty.  I am sure this number will go up but right now thats the only 2 confirmed games that I know of.

The irony in the post is off the scale, you even throw in an off topic gif to secure that buying decision and of course to stir things up a little more.

im over the moon with my one order, I'm comfortable I have made the right choice, especially looking at recent game previews and reveals. Others seem to be obsessing about EVERYTHING apart from the games.

And this is coming from one of the people spreading the misinformation, so you know he's right : )

i dont expect dedicated servers until psn starts profiting off of ps+

Sony are building a new network infrastructure. Dave Perry in the Febuary reveal stated that Sony have greenlit the new network and it'll be the fastest most powerful yada yada!! Sony want to leverage the cloud for its SEN network and gaming/video/music divisions. I'm sure they recently signed a deal with RackSpace or someone. Don't see any point in streaming PS3 games through Gaikai. Does anybody really wanna play older games when the next gen games are out? Maybe the odd occasion once in a blue moon maybe?

The deal with Rackspace is very interesting.  No full disclosure if Sony will be using them to host PSN or even Gaikai.  Instead the earnings call mentioned that Sony will be paying Rackspace consultants to help them design and deploy OpenStack within Sony private cloud.  I am sure there is more to it then that and Sony would need a player like Rackspace in order to deploy Gaikai to enough datacenters to make the magic happen.

I  going on current evidence and leaping to a conclusion obviously.  whats your excuse?

Current evidence suggest that multiplatform titles will have dedicated titles for both, as I can't recall any game that uses it on one console and not the other

And Sony has used them on many 1st party titles

Not sure how anyone could make a statement going either way at this point
