says galaxy was amazing in visuals but 3d world is lacking visually. I spot a contradiction here. and calling it rehashed, isn't that a popular word nowadays? look, no one cares if it's kinda similar to 3d land. people buy a game because of what it is and 3d world looks amazing in every department, overflowing with level design and fun gameplay. It will sell deserved gangbusters.

How the hell is that a contradiction? Galaxy has good visuals, and SM3DW has lazy visuals. I'm missing the "contradiction."

I do care that it's a 3D Land rehash. Sure it will be fun, but I expect much better than this from the first 3D Mario game on Nintendo's first HD system.

"Oveflowing with level desgin...."

lol

visually, 3d world is leaps and bounds above galaxy, so caling galaxy great and 3d world lazy is a contradiction. call it a rehash to your heart's content, it won't change reality. mario is all about level design and 3d world is following the series footsteps with lot's of creativity.

I agree on the visuals part. I don't remember galaxy looking this good.

Let's face it, Mario 3D world look totally subpar compared to the previous Galaxies.  The Wii U is selling quite badly and this subpar game won't be a true system seller.

I predict the game to be the worst selling game of the serie. It will sold less than Sunshine and NSMBU. I think that it will sell 2.5-3 millions LT, which would be a big failure for platform Mario.

You honestly need to learn how to use proper spelling and grammar if you're going to try this kind of thing. Especially the thread title, it's brutally bad English.

Also, sorry, but you're way off base.

Expecting it to do inline with what 3D Mario tends to do in most cases so we can expect anywhere from 6.63 million to 12 million. Although I expect to see a bit of decline to be honest. Mostly because they are pissing off 2D Mario fans by putting all the stuff they want in a 2D Mario game in a 3D one. So being toxic to that audience I wouldn't expect a lift above traditional 3D Mario games and the compromises of 2D Mario may deter some of those 3D Mario fans.

I feel this way as well. Nintendo's behavior the past couple years and decision making has been utterly baffling to me. The half assing of 2d Mario games (which is a stronger seller unequivocally) while the majority of freshness and resources go to 3d mario which has a much lower sales baseline makes no sense.

Further, it creates hostility within the fan base which I think will cause 3d World to sell maybe less than sunshine.

Bet between Slimbeast and Arius Dion about Wii sales 2009:

If the Wii sells less than 20 million in 2009 (as defined by VGC sales between week ending 3d Jan 2009 to week ending 4th Jan 2010) Slimebeast wins and get to control Arius Dion's sig for 1 month.

If the Wii sells more than 20 million in 2009 (as defined above) Arius Dion wins and gets to control Slimebeast's sig for 1 month.

This.

If you're going to bash 3D World at least make it so people can read it.

Mainstream console Mario titles have never sold bad, so I seriously doubt this will be any different. With bad reviews, I'd say at least a couple million by the end of year; good reviews, around 5 million. The only thing really holding it back is the Wii-U itself. It still has almost zero mass appeal, and I somehow doubt this game will really change that, especially with next gen consoles releasing around rthe same time.
