You're exaggerating. Game with big shortages drop far nicer (or go up much like FF14 did week 2->3). That said, I'm saying it's widely available either and it's all a lie. I just wouldn't pin everything on shortages.

lmfao. Let's try this again. Portable 3rd sold about 290k in Feb+Mar 2011. If you had to guess, do you think MH4 will sell more or less than that in November and December?

I'm just saying that it gets overblown, because some stores or chains don't have a lot of stock. Shortages =/= out of stock.

Zelda as a series in Japan has been in trouble for a while. Skyward sword sold only about 360K on a MUCH bigger userbase. Go to the game DB and look at the zelda sales trend on home consoles in Japan. It has a fanbase - but its not attracting NEW fans.

However I expect the Taiko drum master game to sell well and have legs. It should do over 200K total. It has holiday present for families written all over it. As a series it has been Namcos most reliable in the last few years and they will spend lots to market it.

The MH frontier game should be good for 100K. It comes out on the PS3 a little earlier I think (sadly) and that will hurt it. It did 130K on X360 + the add on packs did about 30k each. I don't think thats big enough to eat into the potential audience of a MH mad country especially if the new versions of the game offer substantial upgrades over the X360 release.

Sonic sales in Japan are really hit and miss. I don't expect anything more than 200K unless Nintendo gives Sega a LOT of marketing help.

Wii fit U has family Christmas present written on it too. Wii party U shouldn't be compared to Game and Wario. As a series G&W is a successor to Game and Watch - totally throwaway quickie stuff. Wii party U will have the bejaysus marketed out of it.

Jeez, I wonder how shocked (and bummed) Nintendo is that Wind Waker did so poorly, and barely lifted Wii U sales.. I mean I expected it, but I'm not sure Nintendo did, considering how much they seem to be pushing this game.
