Forums - Gaming - Are the GTA5 ratings as deceptive as the GTA4 ratings?

GTA IV deserved all the high scores and ratings it got, same with GTA V both are arguably the best games of the 7th generation of console gaming.

GTAIV and  GTAV are 7th gen games.

I don't think many people consider GTAIV one of the best games of the gen. The campaign was unbelievably boring and it seems many reviewers just glossed over that. I find few people actually completed it.

However, I do consider the GTAIV exapansions to be some of the best games of this generation.

Yeah... Uh that's what... I said see look at my post again! As far as GTA IV goes you came for the single player but stayed for the multiplayer. I enjoyed both, but imo the multiplayer was the highlight.

I don't know how you came to the conclusion of GTA V scores being deceptive seeing as how people have spoken with their wallets.

so you're trying to say that every popular game is good? strange logic.

If the public keeps buying it then yeah I guess so because people don't ever lie with their wallets or what they desire.

I couldn't believe how wrong the reviewers got it after playing 4. I think 4 is and 8 (higher on PC because mods) whereas 5 is a 9-9.5.

really? so perhaps when people get scammed or when people returned their 360s because of rrod, they didn't lie with their wallets?

Games are different seeing as how they usually don't break and BTW since when were microsoft good at making hardware when they entered the market so early. I mean seriously how did the xbone cost more than a PS4 while also being weaker ? BTW people still kept buying 360's seeing as how it was still more desirable than the PS3 because it had a head start.

Games do break. Ever hear of refunds being issued by companies because their game has bugs that don't allow players to progress?

And I don't get your further comment about hardware.. How does that have anything to do with what I siad?

Either way, you're wrong. People do lie with their wallets and they do it rather frequently when they're deceived by companies and reviewers. GTA4 left many people who bought it because of perfect review scores with a bad taste in their mouths. That means that just because GTA5 sold a lot it doesn't automatically mean that it's a good game.

It's better than GTAIV for sure, but I'm not even sure if I'd place it anywhere near its current rating. 85-90% seems about right. Way too many technical issues I've seen in the game. Considering the budget of this game, and considering the graphical issues, I'm not rating it near the upper 90s. Aside from some graphical hiccups and framerate issues, most of the game was solid, with some parts being a bit "ehh..". It was more enjoyable than IV!

Is it just me.. or went the ps3 meta of GTA V up 1 point?

Games rarely break just so you know.

Then I guess people are also lying about gran turismo, uncharted, halo, gears, god of war, and every successful franchises then.
