Bravely Default. Mario Golf World Tour. Dragon Quest.

Isn't BD for December? Is it different in America?

2014 for US confirmed! Guess we have to wait sometimes lol

Surprising... the version released in Europe and Japan is suppposed to have all languages. I'll never understand what NoA is thinking...

Well in this case they're thinking of the smart thing which is spacing out their releases. 2013 is already stacked afterall.

You are just making that up part.If we have no idea how they will solve the non-linearity in the 3DS game, even less for the WiiU one.

And having X object doesn't mean that we will be able to beat said dungeon just using it and nothing else.

Have you noticed that we can rent or buy the objects? Why the 2 options? The rent will be based on time or uses? I have the feeling that when we rent them, we wont have enough time/uses to go to the dungeon and beat it, encouraging you to get the real deal, which will only be able by having a prior object, etc.

The question is if buying is the only option to get the objects, which I hope isn't. That is, unless the implement a work system/missions that allow you to earn enough money to buy them. And that by itself will also be a game changer.

That why I said it could mean a lot.

Wait and see.

I'm not making anything up. You can get the Hammer and finish the Hammer dungeon (which has already been playable, unless that dungeon was made for demo purposes). If you don't want to do that, you can get the Hookshot and go do the Hookshot dungeon instead. What's the point of letting you do the dungeons in any order if you still need to get the items in a certain order to complete them?

Are we restricted to renting just ONE item.

One dungeon could require Hookshot, bombs, bow and arrow and Hamer.  You are then forced to EXPENSIVELY rent all four items, or else to an easier dungeon that rewards you with one of those items thus you only have to rent 3/4 of the items.  Or you could do the dungeons in a certain order that allows you to not have to rent ever.

This method keeps the dungeon complexity, but allows you to jump to the multiple items required if you want as long as you have the ruppees to rent all the required items first.

Oh, did the US Direct mention Senran Kagura?

I really don't want to get through the first room of a dungeon, then find out that I need a second item, go back to the shop and rent said item, return to the dungeon, get through another room or two, find out I need a third item, go back to the shop and get the third item, back to the dungeon, realize I need a fourth item, etc.

This also means you would have to grind for rupees if you want to do the dungeons out of order.

That sounds like horrendous game design. And if you can rent multiple items at once, what's the difference between renting and buying? And don't say the items will have a limited number of uses. That has been brought up and it's an equally terrible idea.

I have no idea how renting works.  Maybe its timed.  You get it for 10 minutes or something.

But Metroid games work great.  I love Prime and that involved a lot of "ooh I can't go there till I get that item"

If you want to be safe then rent every item at once.

Your adding speculation that isn't needed.  We don't know how the renting works, how many we can rent at a time, how complex the dungeons are.  Why not wait and see if they are all "DUMBED" down before you bitch about it.

Except in Prime you aren't constantly going back to your ship to swap out different weapons. There's a difference between discovering a place you aren't meant to go yet (which is how past Zelda games have worked, by the way) and discovering a place you could have gone to 5 minutes ago when you had a different item, but not now.

Jesus, people are so desperate for non-linearity they're willing to throw away any semblance of good game design and add in unprecedented amounts of backtracking. I certainly would rather simply have dungeons focused on using only a single item than having to go back and forth between the shop and the same dungeon multiple times. You could've just accepted that the dungeon puzzles will be easier now and built your case around that, instead of trying to come up with some contrived way the game can maintain its complexity while offering a non-linear experience.

I'm not trying to argue how things will be, I'm arguing you can't assume they will be one way or another.

We have no idea right now, so coming up with the worst possible thing is not helpful.

I for one never got peoples desire for non-linear dungeons.  Would ocarin of time relaly have been any better if you could have done one dungeon before the other?  I don't see how.

That was decent direct.
I like those new wiimotes and hope that they make one available as a bundle with 3D world.
Wii Party looks like amazing value and those gamepad games still look great.
Love that we are getting those extra Nintendozone street passes.
Mario looks amazing.
Sonic looks amazing.
Zelda looks epic.
Sucks that DK got delayed but I guess they had to announce it to confirm the rumors.
A nice spotlight of third party and BD looks like an even better FF3.
Sonic back in Smash is great. Hope there are 1 or 2 more third party characters more.

I wish they showed more games for 2014 but they said and delivered games on games on for 2013. Not complaining as this is going to be an amazing holiday.

don't waste time

3DS FC 4914-3563-4510

NNID : turtuls

Super Mario 3D Worlds looks great as does, Sonic M&S and Wii Party U.
A good show but i keep expecting something VC related.

That Pikmin 3 tidbit and Shibata singing were great! :)
