Are we restricted to renting just ONE item.

One dungeon could require Hookshot, bombs, bow and arrow and Hamer.  You are then forced to EXPENSIVELY rent all four items, or else to an easier dungeon that rewards you with one of those items thus you only have to rent 3/4 of the items.  Or you could do the dungeons in a certain order that allows you to not have to rent ever.

This method keeps the dungeon complexity, but allows you to jump to the multiple items required if you want as long as you have the ruppees to rent all the required items first.

I really don't want to get through the first room of a dungeon, then find out that I need a second item, go back to the shop and rent said item, return to the dungeon, get through another room or two, find out I need a third item, go back to the shop and get the third item, back to the dungeon, realize I need a fourth item, etc.

That sounds like horrendous game design. And if you can rent multiple items at once, what's the difference between renting and buying? And don't say the items will have a limited number of uses. That has been brought up and it's an equally terrible idea.

I have no idea how renting works.  Maybe its timed.  You get it for 10 minutes or something.

But Metroid games work great.  I love Prime and that involved a lot of "ooh I can't go there till I get that item"

If you want to be safe then rent every item at once.

Your adding speculation that isn't needed.  We don't know how the renting works, how many we can rent at a time, how complex the dungeons are.  Why not wait and see if they are all "DUMBED" down before you bitch about it.
