There needs to be a documentary about the business blunders and just god awful decisions made by "BlackBerry limited" (always will be RIM to me). They had the potential to own everything associated with business mobile phones but for some bizarre reason they decided not only to release their 'it' device so far beyond the point of relevance they alienated their ENTIRE user base and metaphorically put a loaded gun to their customers heads and told them to run to apple for their business needs.
HTC should be watching how this unfolds, because after launching the EVO and singlehandedly begining the larger is better revolution for cell phones they're falling into the same black hole.

As more hardware is sold, software support will grow as well. Between phones and tablets selling millions of units, that should help software support. |
The formula is a little more complicated than that, as Android most dramatically demonstrates. Installed base isn't enough, you also need to make it easy and compelling for developers to get their code to customers, and for customers to part with their cash.
Microsoft's planned unification of Windows across all form factors may count for far more than an increased install base, but until that transition's complete the extra chaos is likely to put a damper on development for Microsoft's mobile offerings.

It's sad to see that, I myself have some of their products and liked them. Their support is the best too. But OS market is something that always will go to monopolies or, at maximum, two big players. We will probably see BB drop their system or go niche and MS dropping WP.
It is indeed kind of sad to hear that Blackberry employees are now losing their jobs. However, who is to blame for this? Keeping up with technological advancement is the responsibility of the manufacturers and they actually failed! Blackberry has always looked dull and clunky and nothing has been done to change things, especially while devices like iPhones and Samsung phones were on the rise.

The market parts (with IOS/android) are comparable to computer games sales for Linux (up to 10% on indies). Still little support.

The app thimg about WP8 is old. Theres loads of apps. And also better apps that arent on IOS/Android designed specifically for Metro. That arguement no longer holds any wieght. If the app your looking for isnt there, theres usually a better alternative.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

They don't make phones... yet.
With the Nokia - Microsoft merge, this will change soon.
Here's hoping the quality of Nokia's phones won't go down. They make some of the best phones on the market, as far as build quality is concerned.

Yeah, that being said, Microsoft sure isn't in a hurry to fix the "music duplication" problem that has been plaguing the OS forever now.
