It's amazing to see how far they've fallen just from a couple years ago. They have become almost irrelevant in the smartphone space with Apple and Samsung being the top competitors.

While Windows phones aren't horrible, they're not here to stay. Mostly garbage. |
I think they are definitely here to stay! Not only that, the phones are in no way rubbish

They do now that they own Nokia's phone line.
But yes I agree, watch it grow. The WP8 line IMHO are the very best phones on the market. I have a Lumia 810 and love it to death. It, along with my Surface PRO, Skydrive and Office are a match made in mobile heaven. Now if they had only made a better console I could have had an entire MS ecosystem in my home...
Blackberry missed the boat. The once dominant mobile phone manufacturer became irrelevant with the advent of the iphone and other touch screen smart phones. RIM tried to corner the corporate market but even there people began using iphones.
That company failed to evolve and became a dinosaur and will eventually go extinct. The latest Z series of phones is just too little too late.
I like how some compared Nintendo to Blackberry when Blackberry obviously has a way worse financial status.
Although it was surprising to see an article labeled what Blackberry could learn from Nintendo.

"Another black rectangle" sums up exactly why I didn't expect much from the Z10. Frankly, I'm not all that exicted about what Apple or Samsung are doing with their rectangles either. Couldn't see Blackberry playing catch-up with that market doing much for them.
Finding a new market is pretty much the only way they can survive at this point. A more apropos comparison would probably be IBM, which likely would've folded had they kept trying to make a big comeback in the consumer PC market.

I meant any phone with Windows.
Didn't MS buy phone related stuff from Nokia? I assume that means MS is now selling phones.

As more hardware is sold, software support will grow as well.
Between phones and tablets selling millions of units, that should help software support.

the z10 looks like an amazing phone, but too expensive... Blackberry was almost living from their latinamerican sells, the needed to focus on our market better. LA is probably the only market where apple nor samsung are huge players...
