Forums - Microsoft - [CONFIRMED] Marious (Ryse) Polygon Count Downgrade from 150K to 85K

Tagged games:

Oh my the horror. Now how are we going to have any fun. Just 85 thousand triangles on the face. I mean Uncharted was just fun because of Drake's high polygon counts. Tsk Tsk.

All you guys are an odd bunch.*

*including me. For legal reasons.

Just to put the polygon count in perspective, apparently Uncharted 2 used 30,000 for Drake.

So 85,000 will still look very impressive.

It's impressive how?  This console is supposed to be next gen.  I hope it beats a last-gen game at something!

The newest Kill Zone game only uses 40,000. That's how.

I am aware of this, and that is also not impressive.  What is impressive is that Killzone: SF has 60 FPS at 1080p online with 24 players and a dozen bots duking it out with dynamic particle effects.

Ryse can't even get above 900p or 30 FPS in a QTE game.  Clearly Guerilla Games invested their resources towards things that actually matter...

Not locked at 60 FPS online. Also reports of graphical downgrades for online play.

Buy nice try.

-Nothing is locked at 60 FPS besides COD (Which looks god awful).  Even PC's with dual Titans sometimes dip below 60 FPS, and that is ok because it isn't noticable.

-Also reports of graphical downgrades?  LOL.  Just HaHahahahahahhahaha

-I knew someone would bring up the Killzone thing while completely ignoring the fact that it is doing things FAR more complex than Ryse ever does.  But it's ok enjoy your tech demo.

Not so funny anymore.

And I bring up KillZone because saying it is just 60FPS is wrong. At least you can stop trying to fail at being funny and see that I corrected him. You however begin to compare the games which I didn't do.

Do you just read what you want or what.  Did you see the part where he state the word probably.  Do you understand what that word means because without understanding the complete sentence and the context its stated, your whole argument is totally lost.  Since he never stated anything about polys your argument is also totally lost.  You are the one putting in your own words to support your opinion which is a fallacy.  You cannot throw your own words into the developer mouth and sit there and say "This is what he means".  Thats crap.

As I stated either you have a real problem with context or english or reading comprehension but your ground is thin when you cannot read the complete sentence as is without putting in your own logic.

No I quoted exactly what they said.... I can't change that lol... before they had the most detailed caracter in a game and claimed that... now anymore.

You are right you did quote exactly what they said, then totally twisted it to support your opinion.  You clearly did not read or understand that bolded point, then you drew some type of opinion you were lied to.  You clearly do not understand the word probably or you would not keep this stance and you continue to make yourself look bad by holding on to an opinion that is flawed.

You can LOL all you want, put your finger in your ears and "la,la,la I can't here you" but the evidence is clear.  You are playing fanboy and when called out on it you just retreat to this " mantra "Most detailed character".

So the question would be, what other main character is as detailed as Marius.  You just claimed Crytek cannot claim this anymore which they didn't but lets entertain that thought.  What other main character is as detailed as Marius at 85k.

Is the game QTE.  Would you call God of War a QTE game.  Having 100 NPCs with their own individual AI the same as a dozen bots in MP.  You are comparing a third person game that shows the main character to a FPS that does not.  Exactly how much budget is saved by now displaying that character in KZ.  Can we get some perspective here because what is happening in KZ is no more superior then what is happening in Ryse.  Unitl we see the full game in both, it will be hard to say which game does more with what.  Comparing MP to Ryse single player is also off the chart.  Why don't you compare Ryse SP with KZ SP then your argument has more merrit.  It would be easier for you to compare Infamous SS then KZ.

Nope still hilarious!  This is the website that gave Killzone 3 a 5/10.  Not only that but he didn't mention a downgrade once.

As for 60 FPS "Locked In"  :

Even the 360 version dropped to the low 40's several times.  I guess COD isn't 60 FPS then huh?

Xbox Go Home.
