I said that basing on the fact that DK, MK and SSB are "big" franchises in Nintendo's book. My hope is SSB for fall and Zelda for holiday, but looking at all the delays they have now, I'm not that optimistic.

Why dont you compare that list to the announced stuff for PS4 and X1?

Anyways X and Bayonetta 2, smash brothers and Mario Kart 8 are already much better than most of the offer this year. Really... i struggle to see this thread as anything but trolling.

The timing is right, Nintendo HAS said they're working on it, and there's this Nintendo insider source (see: the reputable press site says their source works for Nintendo. Being a reputable site means they're probably going to confirm identity before quoting) that claims it's planned for 2014.

Not admitting it's at least a high possibility for 2014 is downright foolish.

With X, B2, MK8, SSB4WU, and DK all set for 2014, the exclusive lineup seems pretty strong. That's 5 high-end titles. 2013 saw Pikmin3, W101 and will see WWHD, SM3DW and the launch of the new Wii Sports and Fit. Certainly M3DW is shaping up to be an amazing title, but I would say as a whole the 2014 exclusives look stronger and have more broad appeal. That's without anything further announced (ZeldaU?), and without counting DLC and updates to titles like Wii Sports Club.

The only way I see 2014 as being weaker is if 3rd parties drop the support. If games like AC, WD, COD and Batman are gone from the 2014 lineup, 2013 becomes much stronger. I would suspect the opposite, if you see the install base hit upwards of 10 million, you may see titles such as the EA Sports line make an appearance.

I saw fake trailers for Zelda Wii since 2007, yet I can bought the game intil 2011.

Nintendo said they were working on a Zelda for Wii since the E3 2008, yet it was showed until E3 2010.

The point is, that for Ninterndo, maybe those games are enough and will left Zelda for another holiday. MK and SSB can be one of their best sellers, enough to push the console.

The last 3 console Mario Kart games did sell about 1/3 the console install base.

Mario Kart 64-9.87 on 32.93 install base=29%

Double Dash-6.95 on 21.74 install base=32%

Mario Kart Wii-33.95 on 100.22 install base=34%

The only console Mario Kart that doesnt follow this trend is the original on SNES

Not to mention the fact there has been only one Mario Kart per system, AFAIK.

Mario Kart will easily sell 10+ million and is the biggest thing going for the Wii U, sales wise.
