Forums - General - User attitudes that turn you off and those that turn you on

Turn offs:

People who refuse to believe certain things purely because it goes against their favored console (the constant "secret sauce" threads is a good example ¬_¬).

Like you mentioned, people who see themselves as better than you for really immature things. Also people who use things about themselves to make other random claims "I make so much more money than you, so the PS3/360/Wii is better, huuuuurrrrr".

Turn on:

The cheerful users :D I don't care if your a fanboy or not, as long as your generally cheerful and not trying to shove your platform down my throat i want you on my penis the site.

Yea, those sauce threads can get annoying, but they aren't as bad as the people that jump in on their feared console and spew garbage because they don't understand or just hate that their 'enemy' console might be better than they think or have other features.  It's just some new spec discussion.  Then they attack people personally who might actually know something or have something interesting to say.  It's kinda sad and weird.

It's like having a circle of friends having a nice chat, then a couple of angry people jump in an ruin the good times.  It must be how some people at South Park Elementary feel about Eric.

Hey guys, want to talk about the latest Harry Potter book?  (Run in, starts yelling at everyone about how Lord of the Rings is So Much Better.)  Everyone leaves, and he is alone.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

I hate when people make claims with absolutely nothing to back them up. Some examples are a few posters claim Donkey Kong as a series is on the decline or the only reason Monster Hunter is on 3DS is becuase of 3D. One other thing I hate is when people dispute facts with opinions.

Things I like tho are when people put alot of thought and research into there posts.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

In this thread I believe I counted 4 people who i find to be annoying. 2 more who are so so. Ill let you guys figure out who.

Hints: One is a wannabe mod, another should be banned(or warned) for his avatar(Doesnt start with a P btw), and another I'd just consider Mr Angry pants.

Or maybe this whole post is just a witch hunt and Im just joking. Up to you if im serious or not.

None of you turn me on.

Were you expecting an exception here?

Dislike people that come here to shit on another company and not much else (get a fucking life)

Dislike spammers and those that know jack shit about sales yet have thousands of posts about completely irrelevant shit.

Love Nintendo optimists (fantastic debates with them that I always win)

I hate when I'm having a back and forth discussion with another user and they quite talking rather than admit I'm right.

I have no problem admitting someone else is right when I'm wrong.  It's called the scientific method people.

Yeah, this one kind of bugs me too. I'm more than willing to say I'm wrong when I am, always hope for the same. I guess you can put that in my likes section: when someone is able to give and take in a discussion.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

The only type of user that irks me, are the ones who claims that one side of the community is worse then their side.
