Forums - Sales - UK: Tesco reduce Nintendo shelf space to nearly nothing

Saw this over at gaf.

"The entire 'Nintendo' section in my local tesco, for all Wii, Wii U, DS, and 3DS games. This is also the only place in the area to get new games, seeing as Game, HMV, and Xtravision have all closed down in the past year or so."

I think this is quite surprising myself, last time I was in a big Tesco score Nintendo had 2 shelves.

I guess this is why.

Why would they even reduce the 3DS?

I understand for Wii, DS and WiiU, but the 3DS?? What's the deal?

I agree, last time I was there there were loads of 3DS games on shelves, albeit shared with DS. I dunno, 3DS alone deserves a top 10 shelf.

Since Asda got rid of Wii U space, I expected something like this to happen at Tesco/Sainsbury's

I have no idea what's going on in the UK and europe in general but they hate Nintendo. Idk if it's Nintendo doing something wrong over there or if it's a cultural thing. My cousin lives in Morocco, right south of europe so it's basically the same and says that everyone over there are just a bunch of ignorant wannabe hardcore who are afraid of looking like babies if they buy Nintendo. (his words)

I love "I guess this is why". If we add all the Nintendo sales together we get 2803K, comparable to PS (4100K), and more than half of 360.

Good thing Amazon is awesome

Those 16k PS2 games!

I don't get 3DS, rest is obvious tho.

I just checked how things are going in Europe according to VGChartz. Damn, even the 3DS is doing relatively pathetic.
