I would like to see a PS4 play games how I play them on my PC. It would probably curl up in a ball and implode upon itself.

I'm not expecting $400 to perform like $2000+ that's just me though. Is a $20,000 Honda Civic going to beat a $100,000 Nissan GT-R? No. Will that Honda Civic take you from point A to point B regardless? Yes.

Look my basic point is console game is more affordable and will keep you playing the latest games.

I am both a PC and Console gamer so im not trying to talk down PC gaming i love it.

But in 7 years my PS3 cost me £400 once and is still relevant to gaming today its playing arguably the best game out at the moment GTA 5 which i cant play on my PC

I made my own PC around the time the PS3 was released it cost me £800 since then ive had to upgrade it twice to keep it relevant for playing the latest game, each upgrade cost more than the price of the original ps3 cost. So were talking close to £2000 over 7 years, thats a lot of money your average console only gamer could just be spending on games,

So dont be telling me PC gaming is cheaper, it aint, but i do it cos there are cool PC exclusives for me Civilization i also need a PC for work purposes anyway and i can afford to pay the extra for better graphics than a console. So unless your buying games on a near weekly basis it aint ever gonna work out cheaper.

Ive also recently sold nearly all of my PS3 games to fund the new generation, guess how many of my PC games im selling to fund a new PC upgrade oh wait i cant sell even 1 of them.

Yeah? Its obvious since x360/ps3 launch, it wasnt a year or so before computers were at the same level if not past, now computers are just still ahead and consoles dont really compair. It still better than this gen, we are finally getting AA.

I have noticed nvidia getting snarky and look at me articles alot lately.

Nvidia is absolutely correct. That is why I am skeptical about Sony and MS claims that we will be "blown away" by PS4 and XBOne graphical capabilities - their graphical capabilities have already been there for years in PC form. There is nothing new there.

For me, a console should be about a unique gaming experience. I can see how Kinect may contribute to that, but the PS4 looks to me just like an average spec PC connected to a TV.

Problem is there is practically no super high end graphical games that are PC only, which means PC versions of high end games were being heavily gimped by assets needing to be scaled to 7-8 year old tech.

Perhaps not many, but there were a few. The Witcher 2 and Stalker were PC only, both developed by high end graphics specialists. Just Cause 2 was separately developed for the PC as well.

Although all very good graphically, nothing made me go "OMG I have to have it". Then again, perhaps others have different standards than me.

Stalker is donkeys old and Witcher 2 was developed with console in mind its on 360, Just cause 2 PC was outsourced they will of been given the console assets, they would not of started from scratch.

New console generation is exciting times for PC gamers as well, the millstone of the last generation will soon be cast off.

That´s the reason I will buy all multiplattform games on PC, this and not having the problem like backwards compatibility.

It has almost always been the case, people just didn't spend a month's salary in a high end PC before.

Plus Nvidia raging about not getting the contracts for Xbone/ PS4 chipset.

I say bullshit for ps3 being on par with high end PCs in 2006

Seriously? So you spent all that money for what?
A friend of mine has a 6 year old PC, all he has *ever* bought for it was a $40 graphics card (Radeon 6570) and it runs every multiplat at Medium or higher settings at 720P with 30fps - Which is console equivalent anyway. (Majority of PS3 and 360 games do NOT run at 1080P!)

Essentially, 1 year of Xbox Live gold paid to keep him playing the latest games this entire generation.

I also have access to a 7 year old Core 2 PC, again with a Radeon 6570 if you want me to throw some benchmarks your way, I can make it happen.
I can even run Battlefield 3 with full map sizes and 64 players on it, not bad considering the *only* upgrade that was ever spent on it was a $40 one and it can still run games better than the current generation consoles can.

Realistically, you can find a Core 2 Quad PC second hand for $100 - $200, overclock one of those beasties to 3.6ghz, drop in a Radeon 7870 (For about $200) or better and you are set with taking a Playstation 4 on, no hassles at all.
That also includes free online and far cheaper and larger choice of games.
Converesly a Playstation 4 costs $550 AUD here, so not only is the PC route cheaper initially, you save allot of money in the long run.

Now, my PC on the otherhand, I have spent multiple thousands, but I pay for the best, so I expect the best, it's far more powerfull than all the current and previous generation and the generation before that, consoles combined, which it has to be, I'm pushing more pixels than a 4k display.

Plus, now with SteamOS, you could buy something like the Zotac zbox, Intel NUC, Gigabyte BRIX, ASUS EeeeBox or *ANY* type of cheap crap PC, laptop etc' and essentially have performance greater than the Playstation 4 in every single room of your house (Even in the toilet!) for a fraction of the total cost in comparison if you were to throw a console in every room. :)

Hay im not knocking PC gaming i do it myself, im saying asking some people to outlay £1000 day 1 is just to much of an ask, yeah steam has awsome sales but it also has shit day 1 prices, at least here in the UK.

I do hope over the next year with the next gen here everyone can get there shit together with digital pricing on new titles, its criminal.

Luckly Steam isn't the only store in town

www.greenmangaming.com is your freind use the discount code and you can get 25% off almost everything including pre-orders until the 27th. They usually offer 20% off. You can't really ask for more than that on brand new games, devs have to eat after all.

If it wasn't you, and it wasn't shockingly on topic with what he said, i'd totally think that post was done by this guy

You are totally right though.

Still, i love me my steam functionality.

Nvidia is raging from not geting the Xbone/PS4 chipsets in the same way that Morton's Steakhouses are raging that they aren't getting the Wal-mart cashier demographic.
