My sister is going to get it.

Not everyone, just like Eyetoy was not fun for everyone. Personally, I don't mind the idea, in fact; I'm all for it, but I do think that WiiFit's appeal is vastly overrated. Its doing well in Japan, and I think it'll do perhaps even better in NA, but Eu/Others will be its weakest territory and really drag down ww sales potential in the long run. I think the key to WiiFit success lies in broad software support, it won't do having just Nintendo develop for it if this thing is gonna skyrocket for real. |
Any idea why the low Europe sales? Looking here http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=6251 , Europe was by far the eye toy's greatest region.
I'm a mod, come to me if there's mod'n to do.
Chrizum is the best thing to happen to the internet, Period.
Serves me right for challenging his sales predictions!
Bet with dsisister44: Red Steel 2 will sell 1 million within it's first 365 days of sales.

Because he's from europe and doesn't like it. Duh.
Eh, or he's stereotyping and assuming the japanese are getting it because they love anything gimmicy and Americans are a bunch fattys that will buy anything that promises the slightest loss of weight?
I wouldn't count the euro sales out.

i would definitely get it if i had a wii, wii music also. some good reasons there.
Just an off-topic question. I'm thinking about getting Brain Age/Training. Should I get More Brain or only Brain?

EU seem more keen on "core" games this gen. I bought the EyeToy myself, but quickly tired of it. Here, it was more a niche title that you went over to someones house to give a try rather than buy it.
I can't explain why exactly I think EU/Others will be its weakest region, but the WiiFit is actually quite different from EyeToy in some ways too. I think that games like Singstar, Buzz, Guitar Hero and Rock Band will remain the top selling casual games in this region, it just strikes me as natural. And besides, EyeToy really didn't have tremendous sales at any rate + the Japanese market seems to have changed this gen, so using that as basis to calculate WiiFit's success in Eu/Others which is a vastly different region (and the Wii's weakest software wise) seems slightly odd to me.
Like I've stated before, the main reason I have little faith in WiiFit becoming the next big thing is because of software support from anyone non-Nintendo. And it seems like, lately, having to justify why you don't think it'll sell in tens of millions is more stressed than explaining why you do.
@Lingyis
You do realize anything will help with memorization, right? watching TV, staring at your remote, playing Halo 3, playing Brain age..... Brain age doesn't do anything to make you smarter or boost your memory better than any other game out there.
but... if you need Brain Age to help you with subtraction and addition... I have nothing to say. :P
Soriku (Feb 10/08): In 5 years the PS3/360 will be dead.

Well, it's been out for what, 14 weeks? Support from one third party game already, I think that's pretty good.
