That's the thing. If I'm your everyday gamer, and see an $80 memory card when the same thing is available on a competitor's handheld (3ds) for less than half of that price, plus the system itself is $60 less, what am I going to choose?

What really gets on my nerves about it is that the memory cards aren't nearly as expensive in Japan.

On Amazon Japan, you can get a 32GB for something like $56 and the new 64GB for $86. Why is it so much more expensive here?

Sorry but 60 or 70 for 32 GB is way to expensive still for just a memory card that crap should cost like 40 bucks.

The 64GB card for my phone cost 50, so there is no good reason for a 32 GB card to cost more.

I have a Vita, but I can't blame you. With Nintendo's software pedigree on handhelds and SD card support, the value proposition became clear as day soon as they did the initial price cut. I had to do all types of trade-ins and deals to get a new 32GB Vita card for less than $50, which is ludicrous when they keep pushing PS+ and indie titles so much.

It was annoying as shit juggling PS+, PS1, PSP and indie titles on my old 16GB card. If they're so hung up on pushing digital content, why would Sony make it so prohibitively expensive to take full advantage of it? Not to mention how the device should've never launched for more than $200 in the first place, let alone collected dust on store shelves for a year and a half before a price cut.

Well i mean they are surely expensive but your phone alone probably costs more than Xbone though. 

Cause Sony needs to make money more than any other game company atm... They havn't been doing well in the last 2 years and they only made profit in the last quarter... Nintendo does need to make money but not as badly

I guess the other reasons is DRM since psp since one of the easiest ways to hack a psp was through their memory card (which was developed by sony but w.e.), then the ps3 is also hacked so they want to keep the piracy rates to a minimum

I do wish that I could just stick an microsd card in it though... but curse dem DRMs

If they bring the new 64 gb to the west, I believe $90.00 is a great price for what your getting.

I honestly don't understand why they have not reduced the price already.

I remember holding off on getting the PSP for a while because of the high cost of the memory cards.
