I love the people who hate that people buy so many iPhones, meanwhile say nothing when just as many buy the new Galaxy phones each year.

Not even close, and the Galaxy series offer more than Apple will ever bring to the table,at a much lower price.

Much lower price huh? Last I checked when I got my 4S it was $200 w/2 year contract and my Fiance's Galaxy S3 was $200 w/2 year contract. Only time a brand new iPhone costs more is if you go for higher than 16GB.

Other than that they don't offer all that much more. I would know, I have owned Galaxy devices since the original Galaxy S, known as the Captivate and am a very active member of the XDA forums and modding scene. There is plenty I can do with a jailbroken iPhone, just like with a rooted Galaxy.

Only thing Android has on iPhone is shorter battery life.

Edit - Just realized you do not live in the US. Here the new iPhones and Galaxy devices are the same price at launch. Even now if you were to buy a 5 or a G3 you could get them for $99 w/ contract.

LOL! Shorter batter life! Sure thing bud.

You do realize iOS has been steadily taking features from Android for the past couple of years, right? And you, I dare conjecture, were probably extremely happy about all these new features coming to iOS. So, Android has had, and still does have many things iOS does not. Please don't do this. Someone might actually believe you.

Um, I understand what features each has or had as I have owned only (1) iPhone so far, with that being my current 4S and every Galaxy S so far other than the S4  (2x Captivate, 1x S2, 1x S3). So I am fully aware of what each had and what each currently has. I also know each devices strengths when it comes to official OS or modded OS like Cyanogenmod.

I also don't care if iOS updates and adds features as that is a positive. Galaxy on the other hand I have had issues with Samsung releasing a new device and waiting for them to update (sometimes taking a very long time or not at all) their previous models since they cannot just shoot out (1) update across all devices at once. My Captivate for example got 2.2 Froyo almost a year after it released and that phone and it's battery, OMG! Co-worker still has a S2 and he does nothing but bitch and moan about the battery. That is a common thing since they have so much going on in the background that it eats battery life. I also said that in jest, hence the . It is well known that battery life has gotten better, but iPhones are incredibly well known for battery life.

I know what these phones do, so no reason to try and act as if I don't know all of these things you just mentioned.

If you wish we could bring this to my wall and you could go ahead and let me know about all these incredible features iPhone users are missing out on and maybe help to explain why people act as if people who buy iPhones are somehow brainless, compared to those ultra intellegent people who buy Android phones instead.

I think people buy what they want and those who bitch and whine are nothing but haters.

I know you're going to move the goalposts, but iPhone does get better battery life than SGS4 in almost any test:

http://www.anandtech.com/show/7335/the-iphone-5s-review/9

The only one the SGS4 would win on is talk time, simply because it has a bigger battery to power the one component that's active during a phone call.

So 35-55% more web browsing, a 75% faster GPU, 20-100% faster CPU (depending on how multithreaded your process is), even the touch screen is twice as responsive. Those are just some readily quantifiable advantages, we haven't even touched on the intangibles (heh).

Seems worth a 20% price premium to me.

But, if screen size and UI customization are what matter to you, then I'm sure you've picked the right phone.

The point is, you claimed that Andoid has nothing on iOS (this is what I assumed you meant, as comparing an operating system to a device doesn't make sense at all). This is what I mainly called you out on. If that were the case, then Apple wouldn't bother adopting features present in Android before it. Hence, what you said is obviously false. Unless you're willing to admit that all of the features iOS got after Android are useless.

I will admit that in the Froyo days Andoid was inefficient with its scheduling policies, resulting in bad battery life. However, this is far from being the case now.

As for your coworker's S2, obviously it's going to have a bad battery life. First of all, a battery's ability to retain its charge degrades over time. Secondly, apps evolve to be less efficient with respect to resource use as developers are given better hardware to work with. Thirdly, that's a bad device; nothing to do with Android. Unless it's running pre-ICS verion of it. As a mirror example of this, I know a person who has an iPhone 3GS. Besides having to charge at night, she charges her phone (leaves it plugged in) in the middle of the day, every day. I once asked her why, and she told me that she can't get over 3 hours on a single charge. And she doesn't even use it as a smartphone really, aside from e-mail and occassional internet browse. Let's not use comical evidence (not, as I explained, that your evidence was even evidence for what you claimed).

I'd like to say two things about the bolded part. First of all, you claim to know about the features present, so apparently there's no need for that. Secondly, do not put words in my mouth. Did I call anyone brainless? No, I called you out on making a ridiculous statement. Yes, I guess I am a hater. I hate when people spread lies.

So you can from this deduce that it's Android's fault?

As for spec improvements: I'll admit, I'm actually surprised with them. Not that they are outpacing the industry in any way (Qualcomm, nVidia get these kinds of improvements all the time), but that they've finally fallen in line. But you have to realize that this is just the rapid pace of progress in mobile CPUs. Just wait for the next wave of chips to destroy the A7. It's just how the cycle works. However, they won't be using this fact as a justification for an unfair premium; at least they haven't been doing it yet.

To those saying the premium isn't justified. Obviously, looking by sales figures, it is.

Sorry to say then that you assumed wrong. Initially I was talking about iPhone haters not saying anything to Samsung galaxy buyers. Then I rebutted the claim that Galaxy devices cost so much less. Then I argued that in terms of worthwhile features the iPhones aren't lacking as much as some claim. Then it was said how iOS copies, meanwhile I argue that means nothing since updating across all devices is a positive. I never said that Android has nothing on iOS.

Nothing I have said so far is wrong.

Also funny you say not to put words in your mouth, meanwhile you clearly have just done the same exact thing within the same breath.

I noticed that Vita, WiiU and X1 combined have nothing on Apple when it comes to hate.

I want the 5S so I'm buying it. "What the fuck is wrong with society (me)?" I just want the phone there's nothing wrong with me. Why does this hurt people so gravely?!

Oh yeah, I never said that you called anyone "brainless". It was directed towards the large amount of hatred Apple and their devices get.

You are obviously reading into my posts entirely wrong and I have no idea why.
