Like I said launch titles don't determine the consoles worth over time.

Then we are in agreement on that point.  Selling a console on launch is another thing especially if your closes competitior is also selling theirs at the same time.  Othe consoles you mentioned sold by themselves which is not the same as whats happening now.

Sold by themselves ? I'm not sure about you but it's the software that moves the hardware and neither of them have killer apps like I said.

Sold either before or after another product but not at the same time.

@Bolded:  So what software made the PS1, and PS2 so successful at launch?  I know I cannot remember what was the launch titles for either system.

There was no software at launch that mad the PS1 or the PS2 a success but if you think PS4 or xbone is going to fair any better then just you watch.

Just so you know, my statements are only in the context of launch.  I consider a launch window for about 6 months as thats enough time for hype to increase or decrease.  Its also a time period I believe where you get your first adopters out of the way and now the merits of a console start to unfold.  One of the things that helps the continued sale of a console is marketshare in the beginning.  People usually purchase what their friends get.  Since both cosoles have a wealth of online features and MP type of games, this becomes even more important.  Momentun is also something I consider about the start of a Gen. Momentun and word of mouth keeps a system selling strong.  At launch it will be interesting to see what keeps the PS4 and X1 selling.

I know the answer. 3rd party multiplatform games will overshatter whatever 1st party or 3rd party exclusive games on the PS4/xbone has.

I can agree with this statement.  Right now there are more 3rd party games I am interested in than any of the first party games from either console.  Could be that 3rd party games performance on either console could be the tipping point for a lot of gamers.

LOLOL

I remember the Avatar game on the Wii, you could switch between controller and balance board for some things. Like when you were flying on the back of a banshee, and using your wiimote and Nunchuck as a bow and arrow. It was pretty neat when you got there it.

Some hybrid type games can work.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

This just proves that microsoft don't care about supporting their past consoles when they release their new consoles. Microsoft must seriously hate supporting their old consoles and outdated.

Now, now, be-careful son, we don't want you having to go back into time out again. You just got back today!

Here, have a treat and chill out of a bit.(notice the toasted marshmallow and butterscotch!)

They have confirmed they will support it for at least several more years.

Thanks lol.

The least microsoft could do is show something killer appish next year for the xbox 360 only to give it good funeral and then I would definitely make me rethink my position about how microsoft supports their old consoles.

I think they should just confirm 50 years or so.  Amazon says when you buy something to stream, you can always stream it again.  I don't know when that runs out.  I can't imagine old games take up that much storage relatively speaking.  It would also alleviate much worry people have.

I hope Amazon stays that way, and doesn't change it's policies.  It's not like they are a horrid insurance company that can sponsor legislation and just rip people off.  *

* Referring to recent efforts in Arizona where insurance companies changed the laws so they can 'pay off' life insurance ( The kind where people are supposed to get a partial cash value back) by more than 1/20th of the dollar. So in actuality they owe your $250,000 and give you $20,000 and say 'too bad!'
