Nice first step. Just keep in mind that posting on message boards isn't the same as talking to strangers in real life. I've met quite a few people whom seemed very talkative in message boards, to the point i'd think they'd be super talkative in real life. Imagine my surprise when that wasn't the case at all. At first. But most people come around with time, and i'm sure you will too:)
