Forums - Gaming Discussion - RIP Hiroshi Yamauchi

RIP. SMB introduced me to console games, and that would've been impossible without the NES. Video games changed my life for the better in so many ways, so I'm very thankful to you, Hiroshi.

The truly savior of gaming industry.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

It's sad to hear that the father of modern game consoles has passed.  I can only hope that we will continue to see quality, affordable, family friendly and enjoyable game systems well into the future.  It's his princibles that saved and truly made the home gaming industry.

Indeed.

He lived a long life, and contributed more to the gaming industry than almost anyone else on earth.

RIP.
