Wii still in first place in Europe....

If anyone said the 3rd quote they are dumb. Europe is Sony land. All Sony devices are embraced here, price permiting.
Even the Vita sells more here than other regions when it has the same price point, even though we have less games.

Also notice how the PS3 is more expensive than the 360 here and its getting outselling it for a long time now. I dont think the X1 stand a shred of a chance with the PS4 beeing cheaper this time around. As far as europe is concerned, this will be another PS2 like gen.

I will tell you a secret... PS3 will overtake Wii in WW sales too.

You can apply that to pretty much anything discussed on this site, you're right it doesn't really matter. But this is a site discussing sales so asking people to ignore something like a console overtaking another is stupid, why are you so keen for people to drop it?

while i dont think xbox will pass wii in sales (it will be close though), it will probably get around 94-98 million, i think, wii less than 104 million. i do see ps3 haveing a good shot at it though ~105 million. i do think the sales of ps3 and xbox coming so close or even surpassing wii, does matter. even if the wii isnt selling much. they are the same gen. and xbox and ps3 stayed relevent longer. its still sales, and its still profit.

I just said 2015 because I think that is gonna be the last year ps3 is gonna be relevant with new releases. From that point upwards the console will survive on fifa and pes with barelly anything new but an update to the teams and uniforms. With really low but continuous hardware sales in the poorest countries.

PS2 sold 1.8m in the US in 2009, 3+ years after PS3 and Wii launched. Was doing 6m+ WW. As uch as you like to think these consoles are going to drop off the face of the earth, they'll have a good slow burn towards their death, not a crash like the Wii suffered.

Sony are pretty good with meeting their PS3 FY goals, they expect 10m this year and they won't be far off, they never have been. Fully expect them to be past 90 mill going into 2015, with 360 a couple mill behind.

Wii isn't going to hit 104mill either, dropping far too hard, they will barely ship 2m this FY (If that) and it's halving every year.

I think the Wii really would have been able to go much higher, if circumstances were different. Outside of New Super Mario Bros. Wii, the number of games that came out for it that you could call system sellers dropped off a cliff. Also, I don't know what genius decided to end their brilliant 'Wii would like to play' marketing campaign, but I rarely saw any actual TV ads for the Wii in the last four or so years either.

tl;dr, Nintendo shot themselves in the foot halfway through the system's life cycle.
