Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One has been “Beta Tested in the Future” ad states

It’s no surprise that Sony and Microsoft has already started advertising for their next-gen consoles. The release is, after all, just a few months away.

However, one Microsoft ad has us (or at least me) scratching our heads. Over on Reddit, user IceBreak found this Xbox One ad on the side of a building and took a snapshot of it. The ad states the Xbox One was “Beta Tested in the Future,” which absolutely makes no sense — to me anyway.

Here’s the ad:

So, does this mean launch day buyers are beta testers, then? Or is Microsoft saying the Xbox One has thoroughly been tested enough that they can guarantee users won’t have a problem? I honestly don’t know.

What I do know is I don’t want another RRoD fiasco happening anytime soon. Let’s hope the Xbox One is built using sturdier stuff.

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence
Around the Network

It means they have spouted so much BS and non-sense that just in the future there could be a Xbone like they promiseç

duduspace11 "Well, since we are estimating costs, Pokemon Red/Blue did cost Nintendo about $50m to make back in 1996"

Azzanation: "PS5 wouldn't sold out at launch without scalpers."

Ha-ha, that's fucking awesome! I like how they have everything hovering too, ya know like the way everything WILL be hovering in the future.

Oh, I didn't realize the future reference was so obscure, not sure if serious.

I LOVE paying for Xbox Live! I also love that my love for it pisses off so many people.

Or what they mean is the early adopters will be the lab rats while they finish the OS

Trying to say it's from the future...doesn't quite understand how to say it.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Around the Network

so its in Alpha and they're releasing it before it is finished.

Microsoft really hates themselves lately, or its just Phil Harrison being a double Agent.

Lol I know it's not, but I feel like it's a knock at the drm 180. Like it was teh futurez.

it means it was beta tested in the future and is now back to the present so that i have no clue what it means

maybe that's the trick, people will read it and think about what it means instead of reading it and forgetting it 3 seconds later but not sure if that was the plan even if it could work lol

I wonder if the beta testers are the same people who helped to futureproof the PS3:

Or, it isn't a release, but an escape, just like their marketing strategy pre-E3.  In this, they just do it, and then find out later on that they made some mistakes.

Or, can go with the line of: "Microsoft admits consumers are beta testers!"

This deserves a top 10 list by David Letterman, read by Adam Orth.

I know what they are trying to say, but Lord does it come across poorly. Seems more they're saying they'll get around to Beta testing it sometime in the future. I'm sure your average customer would take it that way, too. And I definitely wouldn't be saying this with RROD very familiar in gamer's minds. Probably won't be too long before this ad is removed, or at least worded better.
