Just because we haven't seen much of it doesn't mean we can't get excited. The team behind TLG created two of the greatest games ever made. A new title from them is enough for me to be excited.

Squaresoft created a long list of high quality PSX titles, all of which were some of the best RPGs or action platformers ever created.  Didn't stop them from putting out a lot worse quality after the launch of the PS2.

Sometimes, I care about a game because I want to play it. I don't even care about sales or nothing. I drink a lot, though.

Exactly.  I'm not even sure why the two questions in the title are linked.  I suppose there are some people who can only want a game if it's popular but that isn't something I really understand.

I would love to play The Last Guardian.  In my eyes, the people responsible for Ico and SotC have earned a mountain of respect.  However, it's not something I worry about constantly.  I don't wring my hands every game show that comes along.  When they are ready to announce something, then I'll think about it.

Probably because important key people left.....

Because I want another experience like SoTC. That didn't sell a whole lot either.

I am the Playstation Avenger.

A few did, but you've got many different franchises that were good that went down hill.  The Seiken Densetsu franchise, the Front Mission franchise(although I've heard 5 was good, FM4 sucked,) the SaGa Franchise, Brave Fencer Musashi, etc.  It wasn't just the main franchise those few key members worked on, it was just about every single franchise that Square Enix owned, going from really good to garbage.

As good as Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was, it had some very poor design decisions.  The key Final Fantasy members that left didn't work on Final Fantasy Tactics.

3 reasons it keeps coming up like this:

1)  The previous 2 games from Team Ico were beloved classics and people that enjoyed them really want to play the team's next game.

2)  The first trailer was simply beautiful and a true work of art.

3)  PS fans are the loudest and most active console fanbase in all of the internetz.

Will it sell well?  I have no idea.  Depends on whatever you consider good ...

Also the fusion with Enix didn't help them at all (only financial)

So people shouldn't be excited about a game unless it's going to be a multimillion seller?

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

it is not about sales, it is about sending a message.

That's because Hironobu Sakaguchi left the company, so the quality of JRPGs went way down.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
