It's a pretty young genre, really, outside of a few pioneers.  Compared to some other genres, it has only a few entries.

I stopped taking his list seriously when I saw how highly Bullet Storm was ranked.  I hated that game and the fact that I spent $40 on it.  It's barely a shooter, as the main mechanics are lash/pull and kick.

Glad FEAR and Riddick made it into the top 30. Absolute gems.

I personally would have had Halo 1, 2, 3 and ODST all in the top 20.

Timesplitters is also way too  low.

How is Metroid Prime on the list? It isn't an FPS.... it's more of an action adventure game.

Lists like this are always very subjective. That, and the list is too long. Why don't we just make it the top 1000 shooters and name every damn one. Should have been top 10 or top 25 max.

Counter Strike was a big deal in online gaming. Half life is great. Doom and Wolf of course. Goldeneye another good one that broke into the console scene.

The list is null and void without System Shock 2 in the top 10.

List has too many classic games that are remembered more for their impact than their quality imho.

Also, UT and Q3 are way, way too low. Need to be top 5. Take Halo and Doom out of there.
