LOL, Nintendo fans always take the same bait (see the 3DS 2013 vs DS 2006 thread). It will sell great, but it won't match PSP numbers.

Those are terrific sales. Arguably the 1 unquestionable smart move Iwata/his board of directors have managed to make in the last few years was securing Monster Hunter exclusivity.

I would say based on this opening 3.5 mill (first run) + an additional 500k for the best price version (4 mill total) should be possible, perhaps more.

But if this strategy is so successful, I guess my question is why doesn't Nintendo employ it more often? They should be willing to spend a few bucks if it means securing some big exclusives. The Wii U should have an equivalent franchise from a third party as MH is to the 3DS too ... if Nintendo can secure such a big deal for the 3DS, then they should work as hard to make sure the Wii U also gets something that can help it move units.

I doubt Capcom needed much (if any) convincing to jump on the 3DS bandwagon.

It won't get close

nintendo needs to help WiiU period! Hopefully Capcom can help them out! They do need Big third party exclusives. But anyway we will see in a couple weeks where MH4 will be @. Its also on nintendo which might have longs legs like MH3U DID!
