I can't get over how Capcom ruined the Resident Evil franchise. Street Fighter has become garbage. Lost Planet is mediocre. No Mega Man in years. This is not a surprise at all.

Resident Evil is not ruined. Street Fighter IV is great. Lost Planet was always a medicore series. They'll do something with Mega Man eventually, but its not a mega selling franchise anyhow.

You're ignoring Monster Hunter 4 will sell a ton of units. Dead Rising 3 will likely be a hit and MS probably paid them a lot of money for that exclusive.

The good news is Capcom still has a lot of money in the bank, as opposed to having debt. Hopefully they learned from the many mistakes they made during the 7th gen.

What make you think your opinion is better then mines.  I do like Monster Hunter but Dead Rising is meh.  I don't feel the same about Capcom like I did years ago.

Well.. your opinion is obnoxious and just criticizes Capcom. Most of us long time fans are disappointed with Capcom and most of the games they release I don't care for. But I'm not going to pretend everything they do is bad.

Do you see what happens, Capcom? Do you see what happens when you f**k gamers in the a**?! [Proceeds to ignore Capcom games] This is what happens, Capcom! This is what happens when you f**k gamers in the a**!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Someone would do a great service to vgchartz to teach the members Econ 101. It's not just this thread either.

Jesus Christ.

I love how the article sugests deep down would go to the Xbox1 like its a garanteed way to get revenue.

Its not the 360 we're talking about here. The sucess of the X1 is not garanteed at all outside the US.

Seeing how dragons dogma main market was Japan, that sounds like a great way to lose more money. I guess the article author just let slip his fan preferences there.

I dont feel sorry for Capcom because they dug their own grave. They ignored fans, went on to outsource beloved franchises to strangers and dissolved their talented internal teams. They buried megaman, they buried breath of fire, they buried Devil may cry, they buried Lost planet and they almost completely buried Resident evil. They also shoved down out throats a cross-over NO ONE asked for and it made no sense (street fighter X Tekken) and they didnt make the one people wanted (capcom vs snk 3) and now they are out of money.

They also managed to scare away their talent in such an effective way im surprised Ono is still there.

Maybe someone can buy them. Not Microsoft. Actually, its yet another tempting aquisition for Nintendo.

Seriously if Nintendo wanted, they could just buy ATLUS, Capcom and SEGA. Who could deny them after that? Same goes for Microsoft, but i dont see them willing to do that, beeing they are not welcome in Japan.

I wanted a street fighter X tekken for aslong as I could remember! I was just gutted that the one they made sucked.

Why are people saying "holy shit its true" as if they know what it means in the context of the business.

Why do people think cash of $150m is bad?

Because all other forms of assets mean absolutely nothing

I feel for you, cause i dont know how it could ever have worked. Maybe Tekken X Street Fighter does it for you. I know it wont do for SF fans though. The only way it can work is if they remove the classic 2D gameplay and fireballs become only close range combos.

Well I do like Tekken the most so I will probably like Tekken X Street fighter more. Cept the names are going to confuse people, only the hardcore fans will no the difference other will think it was the game released a few years prior.

I don't even think we will see a Tekken X Street Fighter based on the performance of SF x T and the overall shift in priorities of Japanese publishers since they made the initial announcement.

Then again, it might be Free 2 Play and on mobile, it will probably depend on how Ultra SF4 does on its own compared to Bandai Namco's free 2 play versions of Tekken and Soul Calibur.

Monster Hunter + PSV + Japan = 2 companies in the black.

The only series Capcom have impressed me with over the years is Dead Rising.

The first Lost Planet and DMC remake showed promise though.

Monster Hunter + 3DS + Japan = more money :P
