Why not just come out with a cord that goes from the vita to the tv

Because its Sony!.. they always want you to spend more money on their stuff!

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

This might be a dumb idea that I am about to say but...

I think the reason why Sony released a Vita TV is to compete with Nintendo in China...

Now hear me out... Micheal Pachter said that... If China lifts its ban on gaming consoles, the Company to profit the most at the beginning of this is Nintendo... Why? Cause most of the people in China can't afford a ps3 or a 360 and a wii is around $100... So I think instead of letting Nintendo get all the consumers, Sony released this to compete with the wii in some form cause I don't think they will ever release a ps3 for a $100 any time soon

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

I think a "Micro Wii" that had support for 720p games (ARM based chipset?), 1080p media (Youtube, Netflix, etc.), and a host of apps/much improved eShop for downloadable Wii/Virtual Console games with a Wiimote could've done well at a sub $150 price point.

Finally a voice of reason. This device is dead in the water. Strip the screen and control mechanism out of a $199 handheld and you all of a sudden have a runaway success? Such design genious! That's just so comical.

I am surprised so many people are excited about its potential. It almost makes me wonder if we even live on the same planet.

Because enthusiasts who buy them are small in numbers.

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

You do have a point... but we must remember that Vita Tv doesn´t work alone. A dualshock is needed, then the cost will be higher than $ 100. I wonder how much a Wii would cost in China

Totally normal. Now that we've seen next-gen graphics, GT6 graphics look old and outdated. I think people are more excited about next-gen than a current gen racing game. GT6 comes much too late (or much to early, maybe they should have waited and developed it for PS4).

Edit:  Oops, I posted in the wrong thread!  Meant to post in the GT6 thread.
