I have a Wii U but had always plan on buying it for the PS3 just as I have with the previous Batman games on PS3.

Anything multiplatform between PS3 and Wii U, I will always lean towards the PS3 as I'm more into my trophies and such.

Same here.  It's really tough to lean towards the Wii U version knowing that I could be building up my score playing the exact same game on another console.  I may end up doing what I always do and buy the game twice.  Once at launch and then later when it's dirt cheap.

I've thought about that as well to buy it for both consoles when Batman AC came out (and since the Wii U had extra stuff) .  But at the end of the day I'd rather just put the money towards a different game rather than the same game.

For games like Batman it wouldnt fit well with me to get it for the Wii U collection wise since I have the first 2 on PS3.  As much as the Wii U need more consumers buying 3rd party games to help support, it seems like i'll just end up getting exclusive-only games for the Wii U.

you're getting the game for cheaper and since you dont care about online MP i say this is a sure bet for you.

I haven't checked stores, but I live in Australia same as Cobretti2. Maybe I can find a UK import that's cheaper.

aw hell you too? didnt know NVM then, you have reason to be upset

Not gonna lie, it ain't the best place to be a gamer. A lot of games don't even get released, and the prices are horrid.

I guess I'll buy it for PS3. That version has exclusive content, right? Is there any benefit to getting the Wii U version, apart from the price?

I'll wait for the reviews.  Really the lack of multiplayer, trophies, and exclusive DLC hurts the Wii U version.  On the other hand, playing Arkham City with the Wii U's controller made me say, "I get it!  This is awesome!"

  • Playing withouth the TV
  • Audio from Alfred, conversations, helicopters, etc. coming from the pad
  • Map available 100% of the time
  • Touch selecting gear
  • Scanning the environment by moving the controller
  • a ton of other stuff I can't remember but was also awesome (enemy bios, puzzles, reworked to use the touch screen)

I say get Arkham City for the Wii U and try it out.  Might make you a believer.

neither of them, GTA 5 would be my last current gen game for the year..

Now this might just tempt me to pick it up. As long as the rest of the port isn't a bust,

I going to buy it for the Wii U. It would be well into the future and not at $60 either. I can't justify myself paying full price as the other versions without online play.

It's $50 on Wii U. And if you preorder on Amazon, you get $10 credit, so more like $40 there.

OT: Preordered on Amazon, as you can tell from the sentence above. I'm just going to throw it in my old dusty pile of backlogged games I'll never seem to get to and probably not touch it for a year, because I'm OCD about 100 percenting games. Games like Arkham City, which I am in the process of trying to put the finishing touches on now, coincedentally.

Hmm...that sounds pretty good. I already had Arkham City for X360 when Armored Edition came out, so I didn't have the chance to try it.

Still, the lack of multiplayer is troubling, even if the mode is tacked on.

I think I'll wait for the reviews too. If the Wii U version is equal to or greater than the other versions, I'll get that one.

Thanks!

Yeah, the audio from Alfred, Oracle et al. coming from the Gamepad rather than the TV really helps immerse you into the game. And using touch controls to select gear may seem annoying to some because you have to take a split second to look at your controller, but it's much quicker than the other method (I'm going off of how it was used in Arkham Asylum, however). The map available ALL of the time is also a huge, huge deal.
