I'll wait for the reviews.  Really the lack of multiplayer, trophies, and exclusive DLC hurts the Wii U version.  On the other hand, playing Arkham City with the Wii U's controller made me say, "I get it!  This is awesome!"

  • Playing withouth the TV
  • Audio from Alfred, conversations, helicopters, etc. coming from the pad
  • Map available 100% of the time
  • Touch selecting gear
  • Scanning the environment by moving the controller
  • a ton of other stuff I can't remember but was also awesome (enemy bios, puzzles, reworked to use the touch screen)

I say get Arkham City for the Wii U and try it out.  Might make you a believer.

Hmm...that sounds pretty good. I already had Arkham City for X360 when Armored Edition came out, so I didn't have the chance to try it.

Still, the lack of multiplayer is troubling, even if the mode is tacked on.

I think I'll wait for the reviews too. If the Wii U version is equal to or greater than the other versions, I'll get that one.

Thanks!

Yeah, the audio from Alfred, Oracle et al. coming from the Gamepad rather than the TV really helps immerse you into the game. And using touch controls to select gear may seem annoying to some because you have to take a split second to look at your controller, but it's much quicker than the other method (I'm going off of how it was used in Arkham Asylum, however). The map available ALL of the time is also a huge, huge deal.
