Forums - Sales - VGChartz tracking PS Vita TV?

Yes, ps vita tv should count as vita sales.

2ds = Nintendo took away the 3D effect and subtracted the clam shell design. They also took away stereo speakers for mono.

PS Vita tv = Sony took away the buttons and triggers, the OLED front screen/touchscreen functionality, the rear touch pad, the headphone jack, the front and rear cameras, and finally gyroscope/accelerometer

Just because Sony is more hardcore with stripping a product of its features DOESN'T mean it shouldnt count as a ps vita. I hope this product will take off and boost vita sales.

Dual Shock 3 has SIX AXIS motion sensors too, they MIGHT implement them for fita games!

ps: they also removed the battery of course XD

Persona 5 on PS3, I won't need next gen!

To me it's a next level concept of a Portable VideoGame Play anywhere if there's a TV... LOL

Haha funny... But I mean for real it's a portable console, you can play it anywhere there's tv

look at it's size http://metrouk2.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/ps_vita_tv-0_cinema_640-0.jpg

If you can't understand what it means, all I can say is sorry.

If its not tracked as a Vita we shouldnt have 2ds added to 3DS or PS3 Slim added to PS3 or XBox 360 E added to XBox 360 etc. etc.
Its a part of the Vita family, obviously it will be tracked withe the other 2 Vita models

Might be part of the family, but it's not the same device. 2DS is still the same basic device as 3DS; it plays the same games and it's portable. Vita TV isn't portable and doesn't play all the games. It's more of a streaming service aching more of AppleTV than a portable gaming machine.

Umm wtf? Didnt realize having access to a massive libary of physical and digital games makes you a streaming service. Guess that makes PS360U more of a streaming service too right? PS Vita TV is an 8th gen home console that plays games from the Vita family libary, its as easy as that.

VitaTV has more in common with AppleTV and PS360 than it has with Vita. The only thing VitaTV and Vita has in common are the games - and not even ALL the games at that. I think your last sentence describe it pretty good; an 8th gen HOME console. Therefore, VitaTV shouldn't count to the Vita sales. HANDheld and HOME consoles are different things.

It is the Vita's hardware without the screen, it's more of a PORTABLE home console... It plays Vita games, it has the same hardware, the same tools, so it's a PS Vita! Only difference is it doesn't have a screen...

But most places you go there is a TV! I work at a hospital, there's a TV there, my friends have TV in their house, my parents have a TV in their house, when I go to my beach house there's a TV, when I go to a hotel there's a TV there... And to me it's more of a portable console then PS Vita and 3DS which don't even fit in my pockets... Have you seen the size of the thing? http://img.mainichi.jp/mainichi.jp/mantan/images/20130909dyo00m200019000p_size5.jpg

That is in no way comparable. The 2DS is still a handheld. It's just a budget version of the 3DS. The PSVita.tv is not a HANDHELD. It is a console box that can play vita games. There is a DVD player that can play GBA games. How come that wasn't counted as sales for the GBA? I mean how hard is it to get the obvious through to people. I'm not even the only one who can see this

Portable - 3DS, 2DS, 3DSXL, Vita, Cheaper VIta

Not Portable - Ouya, Apple TV, PSVITA.TV, that Madcatz box

It's common sense. 2ds = portable. PSVita.TV = Not portable. How hard is it to understand that the 3DS and PSVita are together on that chart due to the fact they're both handhelds? If the vita originally was released in this version without a handheld version this discussion wouldn't even exist. People would laugh at the idea of comparing the two. All the defenders appear to be sony fan boys who suddenly want to see the PSvita spike in sales and gloat about it. Even though the devices serve entirely DIFFERENT purposes. One is for portability. The other is a home console. They just share similarities in names and have the same guts. Actually the VitaTV has different guts just the same processor. Laptop sales typically are tracked differently than Desktop sales for a reason.

I would buy day 1 if they put a umd drive in it too :)

That'd be neat lol. I'm going to try to get it as soon as possible. I like my Vita. I wish it had more games I liked, but it's a nice handheld.  Being able to play the games on a bigger screen is something I'm looking forward to. As well as the PS3 game streaming.

count the GBA thing.  Count PSVitaTV.  It can play Vita games.  It uses Vita memory cards.  It connects to PS4 like a Vita.  It has Vita written on it.  It counts as a Vita.  The Vita isn't required to be a handheld and Nintendo is free to make 3DSTV and that will count as well.

Well whatever anybody thinks, PSVTV will widen the user base of Vita for every game that doesn't use the camera, and this is what matters for 3rd parties. The only drawback is that if PSVTV will become a consistent share of total Vita HW sales it could discourage 3rd parties from using PSV's camera in their next games.

It's still a Vita, a very different Vita but a Vita nonetheless. You wouldn't track the 2DS differently from the other 3DS models.

The obvious difference is 2DS and 3DS are both handhelds. While PSV is a handheld as well PSV TV is actually a console. To make a comparison an example the MegaDrive/Genesis had some kind of a spinoff (handheld) with Nomad that basically was a portable MegaDrive/Genesis. Back then sales weren´t added up to MegaDrives userbase for obvious reasons.

Whether it's a console or a handheld, it's still a Vita. Besides, it might make Vita sales actually look good.
