The 360 is a strictly gaming system and the Ps3 isnt. That would be my guess.

If 100 JRPG games sells 200K a piece that comes out to beinng 20,000,000 copies sold.

If X360 sells 1m more for each multiplat game, lets say 20 that comes out to being 20,000,000 sold.

This is generally what happens(though exagerated).  JRPG are not being bought for X360 but X360 sells more western multiplat games.  This was the question after all, why is it that X360 games sell more worldwide.  X360 has sold more world wide and this is because of big multiplat games sell more on X360 whether it be by a little or a lot it adds up in the end.

So what i am saying is that all those JRPG games add up.

Alright let me once again tell you why the 360 has such a huge gap in software:

The 360 used to murder the PS3 in software early in the Gen, it wasnt until Sony released some major first party games that they stated to get close.

I think it's because the "regions" that PS3 has the biggest advantage over 360 in, "other" and Japan, buy far, FAR less software per unit than western countries for two different reasons:

Other because these are generally poorer countries that pirate nearly all their software as the norm

And Japan because there is far less Japanese centric software on consoles than there was in the past. It is now a very western taste centric industry as far as consoles go, so while they all bought for the latest Final Fantasy/Gundam/Dynasty Warriors game they had to have, there was very little else that appealed to them as much as what appeals to western gamers.

The 360 still has a 10.4 million lead over the PS3 as far as the major western regions go (North America and Europe), and if we are to assume 80% of the console software coming out is made by westerners with western tastes FOR westerners, then the 360 is obviously left with a pretty considerable software advantage.

You mean why Xbox 360 versions of games SOLD so much better.. right? Like DucksUnlimited said PS3 versions of games SELL much better. PS3 (54.4m) vs. Xbox 360 (45.7m) so far this year.

The assertion itself is incorrect if anyone does any actual analysis of multiplat sales on a game by game basis. Therefore this thread should possibly be regarded as a troll thread.

But let's look at your JRPG argument. Just this year alone so far PS3 exclusives would've had to have sold 9 million more than 360 exclusives just for overall multiplat numbers on both consoles to break even. But you're saying that multiplats overall sell better on the 360, so the PS3 exclusives would obviously have to sell more than that number. Gears of War and God of war entries this year pretty much cancel eachother out, so you have TLOU covering about 3m. I'm curious, what JRPG's this year are those 6m+ sales coming from? Please be specific.

Your first post TO ME said multiplats, not Western multiplats.It's not my job to research all of your posts in a thread that aren't even directed towards me.

I do not think it is a generalization but in my case, I have 2 or 3 games on my PS3. (And I got 2 PS3), the reasons is that I bought them as Bluray players at first. This would explain why you can have as many PS3 than Xbox 360 in the world but less game selling on the PS3. It would at least explain some of it.
