think about it again, if they did knew about what made them irrevelant in the industry why didn't they do something about that?
of course, because they never knew what hit them.

its called learning from their mistakes. sometimes you need to do a mistake, experience it to actually learn something. now im not saying nintndo is facing the path of irrelevance. but its not like the guy is just talking out of his ass

Also Nintendo hasn't been number 1 for 30 years in home consoles and he's talking about the Wii U so handhelds are irrelevant. |
from the article:"I don't think handheld game-only devices make sense anymore," he told the BBC. "Not when you have an iPod or an Android microtablet"
he's talking about both.
Nokia had it's biggest succes in 2003.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia#2000_to_present
that's when i first recognized them. If you can find when they were first no.1 in profits I would love to know. I cant find it. So i'm going with 2003 the Nokia 3310
They lost the no. 1 in profits position to apple in 2009
http://gigaom.com/2009/11/10/apple-shoots-past-nokia-as-worlds-most-profitable-handset-vendor/
thats six years by my calculations. But lmk if you find a src saying when they became no. 1 in profits.

PC market growth has stimied. The growth has been in smart devices, not PCs. There is a shift afoot currently in regards to computing.
There ia cycle of unexpected disruption that goes on regarding videogames. WAY back in the day, there were forecasts that dedicated game machines would vanish completely and be replaced by computer gaming.

Time-Warner was named in the lawsuit, not Bushnell. Bushnell was out of the picture then.

He sold out to Warner Communications, who proceeded to run Atari into the ground through various issues. He was not in a place to act to stop it, and was banned from coming out with another company. But the thing is, with the videogame industry, no one knows what hits them until it is too late.

Thought you were talking about units sold not profit. Most lists rank in terms of marketshare.
