Canot stand the stuff, still find it amusing when the snowman nicks that kids Bru though.

You may not, but IRU-BRU actually owns the soft drink market in Scotland by a large margin over Coca-Cola.

I also don't believe a lot of people drink it straight, I think more often than not it's used as a mixer.  Though don't hold me to that, I've never tasted it and I've never set foot in Scotland.

i've just seen pictures of horny Scottish co-eds (i.e. girls) and their rooms at uni being nothing but empty spirit (alcohol for us yanks) bottles and IRU-BRU bottles.

Before you ask, I'm old, not dead.

I really look forward to continuing to watch Bears games with my sons as they go away to college. The ability to have Skype up while we watch together will be awesome.

Did you notice the Bears vs Packers plug in the trailer? ;)

Also, why are you not in the NFL prediction league? I need more Bears fans. Especially since rol is a Packers fan.

NFC North Represent!!!

I knew there was a reason why I didn't like Rol.

That would be because you picked the wrong team in both instances.

@superchunk: You are really getting desperate.

LOL!  I'm not a Bear's fan, but I for damn sure ain't a Packer's fan.

I am an every hopeful Lion's fan.  1 - 0  over the Vikings!

I get that the Xbox One isn't just a gaming device, but an all around media device, however the people buying it for 500 dollars on day one aren't the ones this commercial is targeting. I'm just wondering if there is a demand for a $500 (plus tax) device like this for hardcore football fans especially considering they have already been doing these things with TV and a computer/smartphone for a lot cheaper than the Xbox One is offering. It offers convenience by being an all-in-one type deal, yes, but at the same time not really. You would still need a subscription with a cable provider, a subscription to gold, a t.v. and have to pay 500 dollars for a device that does what you can already do. At that point, why not just stick with what you have?

There's no doubt though that with their partnership with the NFL they will be able to pump out their logo and name more than their competition and that's always a good thing, but I'm not sure if this commercial was aimed at the right audience. And I'm really looking foward to seeing how the partnership pays off for them.

You're right absolutely right.  This commercial isn't for the people that have already pre-ordered the Xbox One for $500 so they can have it on Day One.  Because those people have already made a commitment to purchase the Xbox One.  The person this advertisement is for is for an affluent older male.  Someone educated, with a career, a steady, well-paying job, that enjoys football a lot.

So, you don't think it's easier to just say Xbox: Snap Fantasy League while you're watching the fricken game to bring up the your player stats?  To you it's easier to go, run and get your computer, or grab your smartphone, take your attention away from the TV, miss the game winning play, to review your league info?  Sure.

There is a segment of the population that I imagine will like this.  While I have one brother in-law that is too frugle to spend money on this, I have another that would very likely do so, considering their DVD player just died and they're surviving on an ancient VHS/DVD player.

I know if my niece found out that the Xbox One had Skype on it, her parents wouldn't be able to get her to stop using it.  I'm certain the only reason she doesn't use it on her phone is because she isn't aware that it's available.

I know, I lived there and aware of the culture.  I don't care for fizzy drinks (coke/soda/cola/pop...depending on where in US you live) in general so have to qualify that.

I am also aware of Scottish co-eds, those ladies must have three inch skin to wear those skirts up and down Sauchiehall Street on a chilly Saturday Night.

I agree that sport viewing is a social event, but generally it is done three ways for me.

1. At the pub
2. At the stadium
3. At a get together

Of course I never watch NFL. Or have cable. Or internet. So all this is likely aimed at different viewing habits of a sporting culture (I still have no clue how fantasy sports work) I know next to nothing about.

It's a great big hobby for many people.  I know, some of my family is super into it, and when one of my bro's sees the commercial he is going to start campaigning his wife to get one.  He will watch  a game on the big screen, and have another TV going with another game.

Fantasy Sports work because you get to pretend to be the greatest coach - from your armchair.  You get to make your ultimate team for the year an see how your players do.  With what Microsoft is showing, is quick updates too.  Say a player gets injured - you might lose them from your team.  Conversely, if a player has a few amazing games, they might get upgraded and help your team do better.

It is Huge in the states.  Almost as big as coffee is for some people.  Have you ever seen a gardener that is really into planning their garden? Or a Stock picker, that goes on an on about their stocks, or a traveler - planning and talking about the places they want to go.  It's sort of like that for sports fans.  It makes they feel like they are more connected with the game and have more of a passion about it.

If you have ever watch gamblers watch a horse race they have bet on, that's sort of the passion.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

I didn't see a reason to go out and get one for 500 dollars if I were watching the game tonight.

That would have been your feeling no matter what so why even comment.

Lol, defensive much? I said the same thing as zappykins. You need to chill out and stop with the me vs them mentality

Really? I want to say great mind think alike, but not sure what you are referring too.

Many NFL fans will pay $299.00 for the DirecTV NFL Sunday ticket thing.  Even if they don't watch many games.  I know the exclusivity of NFL was a tremendous aid for helping DirecTV Grow.  http://www.directv.com/sports/nfl?lpos=Header:3

That isn't anything they get to keep.  No hardware or anything.  The Xbox One doesn't seem that expensive by comparison.  Especially, after the game, let the kids play Zoo Tycoon while people go an armchair quarterback about the game.

Damn the trolls have hit that video hard, so many dislikes, I didnt watch it cause my volume is playing up but is it really that bad?

The Packers (they suck) vs 49ers game on Sunday was the most watched item in TV since the Academy awards last winter. Gives you a little hint why MS has something with Xbox One and the NFL.

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
