Ah, Star Fox Adventures. One of my favorite GC games.

I agree with Final Fantasy 3 definitely. The only memorable thing about that game was the theme that played when you entered the other world(when everything is still submerged underwater). Im not even going to question the others.. but what did Dragon Quest 8 do to you!?

My expectations were severely lowered for FF XIII after the disappointment that was FF X; thus, I wasn't surprised when it turned out rubbish. XIII-2 managed to help me forgive XIII a bit more too.

Off the top of my head, here are some games that I would add to my own "extremely disappointing" list:

- SSX On Tour

- WipEout Fusion

- Final Fantasy X

- Super Smash Bros. Brawl

- Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly

- Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

- Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars

- Ico

- Monster Hunter Tri

All of these games I had some level of expectation which they managed to vastly under-shoot.

I would put Resident Evil 6 over the RE5 on that list, because in RE5 at least the co op was fun. And definitely agree about Duke Nukem

Yeah, I would agree with that. RE5 may have been a big step down from 4, but at least it was fun with a friend. 6 is just a slog through the mud. Also, Duke Nukem Forever was indeed a trainwreck, and one of the more misogynistic games I've ever played.

@OP: Star Fox Adventures and Other M frequently appear in lists like these, and I always feel compelled to defend them. Star Fox Adventures, in my mind, is a well-produced game with excellent presentation and very good mechanics. With a different hero, I think the game would be remembered differently. The same is true, I'd argue, for Other M. Remove Samus from the equation and replace her with a generic heroine and there would be a lot less backlash.

These are just generalizations, of course. I understand some fans simply don't like these games because they find them uninteresting or uninspired.

I agree with some of your points.. The others are just nonsense.

How you go from the epic that was Starfox 64 to a watered down Zelda without any of the cleverness of that series and with some of the most painful voice acting I've ever encountered is beyond me.

Resident Evil 5

Again, a masterpiece (RE4) followed up by a ham-handed mess. It wasn't scary, and the forced co-op sucked.
