360 has no exclusives this holiday worth noting and MS marketing budget will be spent on X1. So no, they won't catch PS3.

Ok I gotcha, I wouldnt be surprised if the 12gb was $149 or $199 Move/Wonderbook bundle or 500gb GTA bundle for $199. There are alot of great deals we could sell this year. Same goes for 360 4gb w/1-2 games-$149, 4gb Kinect bundle-$199, 250gb w/1-2 games-$199
When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.
Based on last year numbers minus a 20% for both consoles, I can see this.
50K COD Ghosts week.
200K Black Friday Week
70K a avage for 5 weeks
No, considering VGChartz numbers, if there is no major ajustment the 360 can outsell the PS3 for only 500K the last 8 weeks of this year.
Price cuts, black friday boosts, COD bundles etc should do the trick
Seems unlikely that the 360 will gain ground outside the US, but in the US they can gain even further. M$ probably will introduce a super cheap model for the holidays with an extremely low price bundled with Live.
It's certainly feasible, though last year the 360 had Halo 4 and Forza Horizon this year it has lol Fable hd.
Ps3 is going to have its signature franchise Gran Turismo 6 releasing on December 6th, which should perform nicely.
Seriously doubtful. With a price cut maybe, but if M$ does a price cut, then so will Sony. You also have 2 brand new consoles releasing around this time, so people are probably going to more inclined to buy those. Not to mention, M$ has 0 major projects releasing this holiday season whereas Sony still has a couple to at least keep the sales afloat. I'd be more inclined to say that GTA5 + CoD:G would be more likely to help 360, but overall still very doubtful. I don't think either console is going to have another major holiday season.

This late into a consoles life cycle, with it's succesor out it does. Also gran turismo is a sports game, a sequel to gt5 on the ps3 would not have the same effect as a sequel to an uncharted game.
DJEVOLVE said: As we have seen on past sales, holiday season, Xbox 360 usually sells more units. This does not mean they will or should, however I think a price drop is in line and we will see the system move a lot of systems this holiday season. So do you think that Xbox 360 can take the lead over PS3 this holiday season? I think they can if the price cut is good enough. |
What is this 360 price cut you are referring to? Microsoft is showing little signs of slashing the price on the 360 at all. They are now going to be pushing the ONE, and focus all their attention there. Top management is in flux at this point, with Ballmer leaving, so look for hold ship and stick with the plan. They did a rerelease of the 360, with a new design and no price cut.
At this point, either the library carries the 360 or it doesn't.
